note to self - must stop reading conspiracy websites.

ps. the Illuminati are to blame for this
I was not surprised to find that the desperate Eurocrats had actually started begging from the cash-rich Chinese, but I can't see

it happening as they want because I understand it was the ordinary worker in China who lost their savings during the last

financial crisis. Once bitten , twice shy . Mind you they could offer them Royal Mail and most of Greece as collateral lol

So there was no fight by the members despite constant complaints to the CWU HQ to do something. In a word we got f****d IN THE ARSE!!! by Royal Mail and CWU

The final salary pension was given away back in 2007/2008

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The directors don't get a pension as such.
They get a cash bung in lieu of pension.
Last year Higson scooped £171,000.
I s**t you not. :cuppa

I bet he's really annoyed that they won't let him join our wonderful pension scheme. :whistle I suppose a Pension would not be ideal for these people...as they tend to Jump Ship every 2 or 3 years...and move onto Greener Pastures! :mad

Crozier's new found friends The Mirror have revealed that the Royal Mail CEO has "built up a Royal Mail pension pot of £1.1million."
And that "Royal Mail have also paid at least £1million in to a private pension scheme for him since he joined in 2003. And have also made payments to him of at least £348,000 in lieu of other pension contributions."
Crozier is one of only 150 Royal Mail managers granted entry to the gold plated pension scheme.
Our own pension scheme had a '13-year pension holiday' which has played a big part of the state it is in now.
The Mirror reports that Royal Mail paid £6million last year into a pension scheme open only to Crozier and a handful of senior managers, which was a 100 per cent increase in contributions.

The Royal Mail Senior Executives’ Pension Plan (RMSEPP) is closed to new members.
Higson is not in it.

For senior executives’ whose membership of the Plan (RMSEPP) is restricted by the earnings cap (£123,600 for 2010-11), pension provision is made by a combination of the Company scheme and a cash pension supplement or its equivalent. David Smith and Paula Vennells receive a cash supplement of 25% of base pay above the earnings cap. Mark Higson and Matthew Lester are not members of the Plan and receive a cash supplement of 40% of base pay.

For the Chief Executive the Company makes a contribution to a UK HMRC approved pension plan and promises to pay her after leaving the Company a sum that accumulates monthly during employment as if it were invested in Government securities.

Moya Greene has been provided with contributions of £20,000 to an HMRC approved defined contribution pension plan in respect of service during the 2010-11 financial year. For 2010-11 the Company has also made her an unfunded promise currently accrued at £120,611 to be paid on her ceasing to be employed. The value of this promise will fluctuate as if it had been invested in UK 5-year gilts.

Tony McCarthy, a former Director, is in receipt of an annual payment of £43,111 as a result of an unfunded unapproved pension promise made to him on when he joined the Company.
