they want to bring in the inward flow next week
ie
one preps on the ips, the other throws off two walks
only thing is we do not have the equipment for the porters and they expect eight people to push alts up and down three lots of frames
another disagreement went in today
the issue of collapsing and overtime has been sorted also, a non starter, it was to easy realy that one
as they are doing the iwt/ips next week, all collapsing has ceased until further notice
and i am still on the sick

Re: HOLIDAYS NO LONGER DONE ON SENIORITY
The Martin Collins version was a fudge to allow units to continue bad practice but still contains the PRINCIPLE that all employees must be treated on a fair and equal basis which as we both know is completely at odds with seniority.
Perhaps in your neck of the woods that means something different dingo but not mine.
We are after all a union where equality is supposed to count for something.
It's here for those to judge for themselves anyway..
http://www.cwu.org/assets/_files/docume ... and_De.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And it does still state that each unit must be compliant with the principles laid out in the way forward agreement.

Fishtank what's fair about ppl getting a extra weeks on holiday after 20yrs? It's called being loyal and getting perks! I didn't mind when I started being bottom on the holiday pile and being on the crap jobs,it's the way it is, we stay loyal and we deserve the perks!-

I don't think anyone disagrees with that but that isn't what is in the Agreement.rockypostie wrote:Fishtank what's fair about ppl getting a extra weeks on holiday after 20yrs? As a rep, all you have is the agreements. Once you start playing footloose and fancy free with them -- you have nothing.
How can you argue the agreement says this about breaks or that about conveyance while at the same time you are pulling the agreement apart because you don't like the bit about holidays?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

No Dingo did.rockypostie wrote:But like lovejoy has said it is in the agreement!
If your assertion is that they are the same, well the evidence I can see (IP address etc) disproves it.
No I cannot share that with you.
Also a gentle reminder for everyone on RMC we don't care who people are in real life and we try to respect their privacy. Some members have dual accounts and we respect their choice as it helps protect their identity - Remember the Bristol members from 2007. Therefore we would ask ALL members not to try an OUT any member, and this includes trying to link one membership name to another. You can suspect all you wish, just try not to invade their right to anonymity.

Re: HOLIDAYS NO LONGER DONE ON SENIORITY
can anybody explain to me why a person with over 20 years suffering cannot buy more annual leave when somebody walking off the street can buy up to 6 weeks.
before the pedants start i know they have to pay for it but my reasoning is that senior men may want to pay for more annual leave but are not allowed to.why??????????

Re: HOLIDAYS NO LONGER DONE ON SENIORITY
Seniority is a small perk for those that have suffered the longest. If everybody starts at the bottom and works there way up the list how is it not fair? Really can't get my head around the objections to seniority being used?
When I started I did not expect to go straight onto a nice round. Nor did I get to pick all the holidays I wanted before people who had been there 10 or 20 years had chosen thiers. Why should I, when they started they were at the bottom of the pile and had to put in the length of service to get better choices!
I have many years of service in now but am still low down the list, as hard as I try I can't get the buggers ahead of me on the list to quit or die!
Seniority is a fair system, anyone who thinks it isn't is living in lala land!

Re: HOLIDAYS NO LONGER DONE ON SENIORITY
Fish it was no fudge. The reason for the new agreement is that hundreds of offices were not agreeing new leave arrangements including requesting industrial action ballots.
For those who were not around during the fall out of the way forward well it was the most opposed agreement we have seen in Royal Mail. If this site had been around than it would have drawled the fallout over the BT agreement.
Now Fishtank the principles does not state you had to get rid of seniority.
Now remember prior to the way forward agreement , offices selected their annual leave in two blocks , summer leave normally May - September ( 22 weeks ) and that was done on seniority in a lot of offices and then from Oct - April (26 weeks ) again on seniority.
Under the new system which was agreed by Collins and Delso , we had either a 48 or 50 week leave spread. This meant that offices could agree that every individual could sign in seniority order for the 2 weeks of their choice and then come back around for a further choice and than a further choice.
Fish in London the diverse ethnic mix of employees allowed people not to only choose the summer months as their first choice. Now each and every office as I was involved in all the area agreements got that endorsed by the members and the only disagreements have been when Royal Mail have tried to change this after the unofficial action in 2003.
Now let's get this right it is not only London has got seniority plenty of others have. Now you could have a rotate system which meant no one got what they want on the years they were near the bottom.
At the end I am a great believe in allowing the members in the office to decide the start times , finish times , the leave selection procedures etc rather than have CWU HQs , Royal Mail nationally impose something against the will of the office concerned.

Is this not the case in any job Clashcity?clashcityrocker wrote:No. He is saying the kids are in school and consequently there are no childcare costs.
In the summer, there is no school so parents have to pay for childcare if they can't get time off during the holidays.
