New Mail centre Home Counties North
OK.......The new Home Counties North mail centre is up and running in Hemel Hempstead, not much has migrated there yet from the existing fated mail centres Hemel,Watford and Stevenage,DSA/mailsort from Hemel and Stevenage has migrated and is being run through the ilsm's as far as i know, the dsa/mailsort goes from Watford 5th September,2nd class a couple of weeks later and 1st class along with processing & mgv drivers the end of October and shutting as a working mail centre 31/10/2011,i am lead to believe some of the work & workforce from Hemel and Stevenage will not be moving to the new site until Febuary 2012.....so if you're at the new mail centre, whats life like there?
The Ascot Road site is rumoured to be kept by Royal Mail until January 2012,so as it can be used as an outhouse for christmas 2011

I work there it's not good. The managers are very strict and there is going to be no parking. There are about 200 spaces. (and there is no parking around the industrial area.) Canteen is tiny

Re: New Mail centre Home Counties North
Been there at HCN a couple of weeks and its been busy,i would say there are just as many casual workers as there is Royal Mail workers, its not as strict as i thought it would be,but once the manaagement find their feet and sort out the so called teething problems, they'll clamp down on the workforce a bit more.
Watford's migration is done, there are still a couple of migration phases from Hemel & Stevenage yet to happen and when all the processing and mgv migration are complete it will be "cosy"the delivery section(Hemel & Berko) have been allocated nearly a third of the building, which to me seems a bad move specially with the recent anouncement that Amazon are moving on to the same industrial estate,of course i am anticipating that Royal Mail will get the Amazon work
,there'll certainly will need the space currently given up to deliveries when the Amazon warehouse is up and running in 2012........interesting times ahead

Despatch failures due to disorganised and inept management, the runs to the local delivery offices are a bit hit and miss as well, vehicles are proving to be a problem.stella haley wrote:hi guys![]()

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Re: New Mail centre Home Counties North
No but any teething problems at any mail centre will have very little effect on your "incoming mail". If your are having problems you need to address them to the local Delivery Office as thats where the mail gets broken down to individual deliveries. At least thats how I understand Royal Mail works, La Poste, DHL etc may be different.stella haley wrote:I don't understand.
