The work will just go to private firms who will employ people who may have dubious backgrounds , who will leave every gate
open and will trample every flower bed and will probably decorate your garden with leaflets like confetti.

Not just the Mail, just found loads of news stories on this,we're doomed.
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

I liked the comment from Happygirly, "Does anyone know the website address?"
The second paragraph clearly states that it won't be launched until next year
Good ole DM readers

If a national newspaper or a group of them started up a campaign for no apparent reason to boycott say Tesco or McD's wouldn't they be invaded by lawyers and injunctions and all kinds of nasty legal threats?POSTMAN wrote:Not just the Mail, just found loads of news stories on this,we're doomed.

Left comment: Won't work - once enough people have opted out of Royal Mails Door to Door service then advertising firms will move away from them an use business who won't be covered by the Opt Out.
That means everyone still gets the unaddressed mail, however Royal Mail loose a revenue stream, prices of stamps go up and DM readers get something else to complain about.
Another hidden cost is that the competitors in this market charge more than Royal Mail does. So the companies who are sending you this stuff will need to raise prices to keep their profit margins.
There are no simple solutions to this, and indeed there are consequences the DM have not even considered.

Leaflets, think of all the people in keeps in work and the tax revenues raised and not just income tax.
The paper industry, printers, designers, ad agencies, distribution networks plus all their suppliers.
I have no idea where the Mail plucked the figure of a disposal cost of £50 million from or whether it is remotely accurate but this cost of doing away with it would more than outweigh any savings.
Think of lost tax revenues, potential increases in benefits to people made redundant. None of this makes any sense.
Last thought: - What's the cost of disposing of all the unaddressed leaflets that get inserted inside The Mail on Sunday?
Oh to hell with it! Why am I wasting time on this? It's the f*cking Mail and who gives a sh*t what they think?

What's the betting that we get a d2d advising customers of this new website?
