Now we all know Royal Mail for the "GREAT PLACE TO WORK." Slogan and how many feel about it!!
Now Royal Mail have again shot themselves in the foot by a bit of news i read today...
Postman Kevin James was refused paid leave to take part in the WORLD BOWLS CHAMPIONSHIP.
Kevin 24 Was told he would have to take unpaid leave to go to Australia in November for three weeks
This is after the same event last year Royal Mail gave a rival Simon Jee the time off paid....
The CWU stept in and now after an embarrassing turn around Royal Mail had to give Mr James the time off paid...
James said after the turn around... "I FELT THAT I SHOULD BE TREATED IN THE SAME WAY AS SIMON."
The CWU said. "he (james) was close to being treated like a second-class citizen."
Now even in a year we see how Royal Mail now treat people worse and this is the climate we work under...
Wonder if old Simon is a screw????? And Kevin a worker???
This b******'s isn't new back in good old 1991 in my postal cadet days (anybody remember them) a guy on my cadet training course, sadly now no longer with us who worked at an MLO wanted to borrow a RM van to visit every Post Office in the TN area in one day and get a signature/stamp with us all sponsoring him for charity (Air Ambulance I think). Royal Fail refused to take a vehicle out of service for one day so he did it in a rental van supplied free, couldn't have all that wonderful publicity, as usual they wouldn't have known what to do with it
