I have been informed by a reliable source that Mount Pleasant handled work from Oxford during the recent dispute there.
Frames were set up in the mount to break down more Oxford mail than is usually the case.
The Union were quoted as saying "It's OK to do extra work during the strike as when it gets here it's sitting idle.
Some workers at the Mount were unsurprisingly disgusted at the unions turning a blind eye to the situation and thought it absolutely wrong to handle the work.
I was under the impression that the work at Oxford was not moved around and if it was the Union should have stepped in to prevent it?

I was on leave last two weeks. I haven't heard anything about this since I got back.
Can't see our committee or reps agreeing to it - we have never handled work from
an office on strike unless they agree to it.
Will try to find out more on Monday.
Mount Pleasant doing scab mail without a fight and with union agreement. Sorry can't see it I think this is a case of Chinese whispers.

Chattin to a postwoman today while she signed a recorded,comes out she's from MP.
I asked her about it and she said the work DID come down but was pushed aside and not touched/sorted.
They're very militant there,which i had an idea of and she was shocked that people thought they had helped out.
Mind you interestingly also she said there's hardly any docket there at all and feels their work is being diverted elsewhere.

I have asked senior Reps and the Branch Secretary who were taken aback by suggestions
that we would handle work fom an office that is on strike.
It's the sort of rumour that is put about my managers to undermine industrial action - I was
told before the first strike by a manager from Deliveries that they would all be coming in.
But I don't believe anything a manager tells me, especially about industrial action.
