I once knocked on a door to hand over a huge bunch of keys only to get an earfull from this bloke who I'd woken (he'd come in off nights and left the keys in the door).
If it happens again at the same house I fear the keys might find the nearest grid!

Ive found wallets, purses and mobile phones on the driveways of customers and always knocked and handed them back.

I once found a bulging purse near xmas time,which had been out all night on the pavement , i opened it and it was stacked with cash and i reconised the name on a credit card so knocked on their door and handed it across. To my surprise the women barely made any comment but went on to have a moan about a parcel she was waiting for, i was gob smacked

Another time i found a nice mobile and handed it to my dom. He rang the owner and they came down and collected it. They came back the next day with 2 bottles of wine and the tight git kept them both.

If i find any cash on the street then its straight in the old sky rocket but over 20 odd years that prob does not even add up to a tenner.

A peacock right next to someones front door! I didnt think it was real either until I got right next to it and it moved. Scared the sh*t out of me hahaha!

Found several expensive mobile phones over the years, took them back to the office and phg called a number in address book. All got claimed by the owner. Never even got a thank you. Will keep any I find from now on. Ungrateful feckers.

Most dissapointing thing i found on the streets recently was me, soaked to the skin delivering nuisance mail on Christmas Eve.
I can hardly wait to find me doing the same again on 2 Jan.

The law would beg to differ:

Theft by finding

A few years ago I was delivering a town round, a lady stopped me in a disability scooter and said there was some money on the floor a few yards up on pavement and she couldn't reach it. She scooted off, so I was expecting a quid or so.

£25 just sat there

So I did the decent thing, picked it up and scarpered

Two twenty pound notes in a bank bag(got back after 8 weeks from police station) A flute in a case and a golf club(new).
One old timer in our office found a severed hand in a pillar box some years ago,just ordinary stuff really!
