TAX rebate for washing your uniform...

Received a letter from the tax office today with my new improved tax code.

new tax code is now on my wage slip along with a nice £111 tax rebate

Got a letter today sayign ym tax code had been changed to 757. I assume this is the uniform thing. Thins is, I've neevr been given a uniform (heading on for 3 months in now ). I'll have to ask (again)... especially before winter kicks in (my contract has been extended, albeit only informally and verbally at the moment..)

Yeah thats right its 759, I mistyped! I sent back the form with my contract.. BUT I asked again today, went to the delivery office manager (who ive only seen once or twice..) rather than my line manager and he said oh i didnt realise, should be sorted by now etc I'll see if theres anything you can have now, went to the store room, there was a load of uniform in plastic pags with my name on that had obviously been there a while..

Just rung HMRC

they have amended my tax code and will be checking back over the 3.5 years I have been a postie so hopefully I will recieve a nice rebate and just in time for xmas :)

odd code, should be 759L

phone tax office and ask to have it changed, it wont mean a lot other than you can earn an extra £30 a year free from tax, which equates to about £7 in real money, but every little helps!
