We're currently a few weeks into our revision (park&loop) things arn't going that well ...can't imagine why of course according to the computer it should be amazing!
Anyways, this week we were dragged up into a meeting with our dim and his dim (this is 6 of us at a time) we were told that the reason the park&loop isn't working is all down to us being a bunch of bone idle barstewards in so many words and that they are going to watching our inside work very closely,we were told those who are not performing up to standard would have their contracts terminated (25 items per minute)

I was wondering who all the extra dims were walking around the office they were our dims (and his dims) dims (yeah a lot of dims) and they've been walking watching us with stop watches checking our performance over so much time.

Now due to these dims being at the office they are doing daily minute prep tests on everyone checking how long it is taking to throw all the mail out, then checking how long it is taking to set the packets in, how long it is to set the duty and what time we're loading up the van etc. Its all being recorded so anyone not performing to this 25 per minute will be dragged into the office(i walked away from the duty for 5 mins to go to the bog only to be greeted my the dim on return demanding to know where i've been for five mins)

Those who left a bag or so have been getting dragged into the office the following day and being told off for doing so.

Anyways the question i want to know is can they do this? teminate your contract for not performing to this 25 per minute test, pretty sure i read somewhere on this forum that this test wasn't designed for "do it or teminated" if they can't where can i find something in writing so i can shove it up their noses if i can?

Many thanks for any help :) (yeah a smiley face got to stay happy or you'll just be banging your head off the wall not letting the barstewards get to me anymore)
 With 6 of you in the office at the same time---you each have witnesses to these threats! Stand your gorund,

The solution to failing to meet targets is counselling and further training - not a bollocking and a threat for dismissal. That though certainly highlights the attitude of RM to its employees these days - no carrot, no counselling, just stick, stick and more stick.

Maybe they should be reported to the Jockey Club :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle

I find these people sickening with their attitude......
Firstly where do they find these managers from to stand and watch over you ?????? :no no :no no :no no Savings here me thinks...
Secondly there is a set procedure for checking peoples Sorting / prep etc etc (it ain't standing over you with a stopwatch !!!!!!)
Thirdly could these people reach the required levels themselves especially throw out and deliver a duty in the time they tell you to ..... NOT A CHANCE :mad :mad :mad
Fourthly if someone doesn't reach the required standard, training is the first step ( I'm not championing any one who does not purposely pull their weight here) not the sack.
And finally the thing that anoys me most is how in the likes of the papers and press they refer tous as "OUR PEOPLE" when they think 99% of posties are bone idle, skive and underperform every day..... Have a go yourselves then critisize :mad :mad :mad

Tell them that you will go for a Bullying and Harassment case for not following the correct procedure, explain that we only have one test that is useable that is under the individual performance standards,BSI is not an agreed standard,Tell you macho DIM that you will Email Mss Green and ask her what her take on it is, As you understand that a manager must manage from a distance and that your Dim is telling you that he/she is going to terminate your contract and that your concerned that he/she maybe breaking contractual law under the terms and conditions of your employment, then see what the reaction is.Use very large words liberally as they cant handle anything pass 3-4 letters in one shot.

Harassment includes behaviour that, intentionally or not, creates feelings of unease, humiliation, intimidation, discomfort or offence. It also includes behaviour that causes exclusion or withdrawal, or threatens or appears to threaten job security.

I'll give you a clue as to how valid the threat is....
Is there any part of their stupid pointless little speech available in written form?
Anything with an RM logo on it?
Anything at all?
Didn't think so...
Ask them for it in writing and watch them s**t themselves...and contact your Area rep.

Fishtank well done in saying the above and totally agree with you,[b
But the procedure they will copy and show will be the NCI procedure which I am on, My area Rep has been involved and also contacted the Dom's manager to withdraw but alas he has not,

My dom has also been intructed that I am under disability via Atos, because I said that they had not taken me seriously on this, but he still is on a mission to oust me, I have now been informed to take out a grievence which i will do within a couple of weeks.

I write everything down even out on delivery what time it takes me to do certain roads every couple of days, usually when it is heavy. very time consuming, but I know that you need all the evidence you can get,

I done a test week before last but still waiting on the results

I am due this week to go in front of Disability Board, good luck to these folks in the office they work.
my local union guys have been really helpful plus a few on here with advice, but it does get you down though

I have to say having read the document i cannot foresee any possible way to progress NCI without either lying about someone's capability or lying about the parameters used to measure that capability..
The whole document is full of loopholes, backdoors, get outs and contradictions.
I would estimate the whole process would take around 2-3 years to implement properly which makes me suspect it's more a bullying tool designed to make you jump rather than an effective way to push.
In your position essex i would be seeking legal opinion alongside exhausting the internal grievance procedure.

Stay strong.

I just love your and others snipets of information on here FT :Applause :Applause :Applause .......

I have just gone down a completely unfair and unjust conduct code (have been cleared now), the help I have had has been superb but even better our DOM hates me now....

Every time (like he is doing with my ensueing grievance) he breaks the rules I turn up with the document printed out off here to P... him off :dance :dance. He threw his papers up in the air the other day and spoke to no one when I produced my last document correcting him...... I'm only asking him to stick to RM's own rules can't understand him getting so upset :whistle :whistle .......
