Bag drops are going o.k now, I refuse to deliver a round unless the bags are in a secure place, although today I was doing an extra half a round and got my first bag and it was jam packed with mail, a worm coudlnt squeeze into it, and to top if off I opened another bag and it was just full of packets that covered the houses that all the mail was for in the first bag I opened. So in other words they expected me to carry a way to heavy bag full of mail and another one that had the packets in at the same time. OOOhh I thought wheres my mobile, Hi its James, these bags you've left me can you pick them back up..... silence at the other end......... erm why James........ Because its over weight for a start and I'm not carrying 2 bags on my round, well James cant you just leave the packets in the basket on your Bike...... Erm no if somebody nicks them I'll be held responsible so I will leave the bags as I found them at the bag drop and I'm going home now . See you tommorow !!!!

Stockport back in last night, Sorting at out office got cut off at 7.00am this morning with loads and loads of mail left to do, this is going to affect Stockport big time, loads and loads of customers today asking what was going on so told them about the strike and they were all supportive of us.

I'm all up for doing a video !!! Same sort of thing happened today !!! Got a call asking If I could do an extra bag near where I lived and I would be paid very well for doing it, o.k I thought its a nice sunny day and it is near my house so off I toddled to the school to collect it, got there and the receptionist said ooh hello your working late (about 2.45pm this was) so I said I've come to pick up a bag thats been left, she said oh right I'll take you to it, off we went into the back room (leave it out you filthy minded people) there were 2 bags sat on the floor both full, so I said there was only supposed to be 1 bag, so she said I thought they were being left here for tommorow morning, so I picked up 1 bag and said that other bag is being left there love !! Rang my DOM who said he was told it was 1 bag and could I do the other 1, erm no agreed to 1 not 2 dont try and take me for a mug !! Oh o.k james I will just ring the other office up and see whats going on, what going on gaffer is I'm going home now sinking as many cans as I can and falling into bed at about 11.30pm buckled !!! The joys of RM !!!
James looking back on your posts you've been a postie about 6 months - well done for standing up to them when they try to con you, not many would with your time in the job. .

Yes it has been about 5 months with RM, at first I did everything they asked but after seeing certain things in my office and listening to all the comments on here I have decided to put my foot down, The same sort of thing happened to me in my last job where work got piled on me and for no thanks or an extra bit of cash for going "the extra yard" so after that I wont be treated like a doormat anymore, I'm sure all the DOM's out there wouldnt like there children being treated like Sh** when they start a new job so why should I, I will stand up for myself and if I feel like the mickey is being taken out of me or people think I'm an easy touch then they will be in for a shock, dont get me wrong I dont cut corners, I do the job to the book, make no mistakes and there is no comeback and nothing can be said. I keep my head above water but as soon as the weight is being piled on my back and I start to sink then I will speak my mind. What if someone thinks the way they are being treated is ok and would like to work on? I will just be starting next week and I will not be a scab, but what if someone who has just started and is scared for their job doesn't want to strike? Will they be (according to a thing on the notice board in the office of the DOM) "harassed"?
