My DOM is so nice.
I collapsed at my delivery frame on Aug13th was out for 15mins and came round in the ambulance just before going into our local Hospital.
Was given morphine and anti sickness pills and then whisked off to have a CT scan on my head, was told by the doctor who had looked in my eyes that I had swelling of the optic nerve and was told that there was a 50/50 chance of having a brain tumour, luckily there was no tumour,my line manager had rung the hospital and spoken to my wife who told him that I was awake and talking, nice to know they care.
Was in hospital for 9days having MRI,Lumbur Punctures, bloods etc, then they booted me out saying you have intercranial pressure but as your only on painkillers now you can go home which to be honest was a relief,in the mean time my nice kind manager had been on the blower saying that I needed to send in a sick note(bit hard when your in hospital and 5 miles away from your gp)so when I was leaving had to mither the drs in the hospital for a sick note.
Next morning I get a taxi to my office as I can`t drive now as I`ve lost some of my eyesight and get dizzy spells, goes into see the DOM and fills him in on my illness,he is shocked when I tell him i`ve only been out since the night before as my line manger told him I was out TWO days after my collapse(twat).
Tells him I`m still shaky and still have the nutache and keep forgetting things and have slurred speech,he then says ATOS will give me a ring in a few days time as he KNOWS I will be off for sometime.
Got the phone call off them today, slapper asks how I`m doing as my DOM wants to know when I can come back to work and is keen that if I can`t manage a delivery to come and work inside, maybe doing the callers office or sign offs!!
Nice to see even after I`d visited him and couldn`t even remember my own fricking phone number he thinks I can deal with members of the public.
I`m not a violent man and quite frankly could do without the hassle but I feel like going in tomorrow and sparking the twat out.

Get well and recover fully before going in mate don't let them bully you into work until your doctor says you are fit to work.
I bet that was scary and I hope you do recover soon - for your own peace of mind.

Don't feel obliged to return to work until you are totally fit.
I had a slight stroke some years ago and felt the most important thing was to get back to work, I can't say I was pressured because I wasn't, it was a personal thing and I returned to work after 5 and a half weeks, after my licence had been returned - the Dr has to inform the DVLA that you are unfit to drive for medical reasons. Although I felt OK I certainly struggled for the first few weeks back to manage full time - it would certainly have helped for me to have a period of rehab. When you do FEEL better and your GP thinks you will be OK please consider asking for a period of rehab prior to going back full time.

Happened at PDO South , Postie who was very poorly with Testicular Cancer was harassed and haringed into doing light duties . The Rep went Ape-s*** and said you don't send any "letters of support" or make any "welfare" calls , you will wait till the Doctor/Specalist says he's ready or we'll tear you apart , then & ONLY THEN will RM back off as they've no REAL authority everything is purely to impress Area/Senior Mgt , totally regimented , archane and mechanistic . The Orders are it's NOT necessarily a DDA issue and no different from any ailment/condition/complaint , Only ATOS Origin will decide otherwise. I'm not surprised that there's been complaints to the GMC about these hack "doctors" doing RM's bidding. One f*****g idea youv'e a "good" doctor/specalist and your'e maalingering. Sorry but that's bullying full stop. Braindead IDIOTS . :cfo :cfo :lfo :lfo There was these Senior Mgt idiot moderators on H****** parroting the corporate line " Everything is never less than "best practice"-everything has been proven in ETs with CWU Involvement _RM's policy is to "remove the barriers " and return to work as quickly as possible and it's just "troublemakers" who can't accept "medical advice" from ATOS Origin . So it's Sour Grapes then ?, well; I and people on here can translate this b******t. :lfo :lfo :cfo :cfomaximus wrote:You know what? It's not just Bolton!
I got three, (yes that's right 3). letters from my caring management team within seven (7) days and the last one asked me for permission to see my medical files.............
Now considering that you're allow to self-certify for the first 7 days I just told them to shove it where the sun don't shine!
Don't let the Gestapo b******s get you down, remember you've got rights that even they can't take away.

and please don't get fooled into thinking these 'atos' creeps are doctors because they ain't , they are medicaly trained (nurses) no doubt, but not to a gp level let alone a specialist. if they need anything just refer them to your gp don't listen to what used to be called quacks and don't take any crap from the managers either

Like my other cwu colleagues on this site I sincerely wish you a full and speedy recovery. As has been said don't go back to work until you are 100% fit to do so.
As a cwu safety rep I am more than curious on how your DOM would have wrote this one up (your collapsing at the frame and being unconscious and taken away in an ambulance).
Was it reported under RIDDOR 95. Worth checking. Best of luck m8.

You hav'nt borrowed our DOM have you its either that or they are cloning him my hubby had an anurisum in the heart he had a bad turn at work when he was picked up because he did'nt feel well enough to get him self home he was found outside the office on the grass,i did'nt know until i came back from my delivery,i had a phone call to tell me they needed me at the hospital he was about 6 minutes from death as his heart was bleeding into the wrong chamber, the DOM repayed us by making him an appiontment with OHS he was still in hospital he then wrote and asked us how long would he be off,6 months later and have lost count of the problems he had he went back to work only to be interviewed by an ex army doctor who asked what his problem had been he even said the top consultant for the country had got it wrong and that he would be ok to resume his full duty hours needless to say i wasnt impressed,i never thought i would have said it we work for a heartless set of managers with little or no understanding.
