Monday and Tuesday quite good. Few packets and not much in the way of flats. Wednesday, really heavy packet day. Loads of recorded items. Most people, apart from the usual in early and not take a break idiots were out late. Late finish but not the last back.

Got a good audio book going at the moment so i just plodded around, took a full 40 min break and finished just after 2pm

Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Been on a new "bag carrier" walk that they've set up this week (essentially a formalised cut off, taking loops off of 2 deliveries that were far too long). It's been OK I guess, I've enjoyed being able to work alone without a shared van partner. Find it a lot less stressful...
Still a bit dubious about these bag carrier things though, no trollies on loops that are suppsoed to be done on a shared van. Bags are packed for me which are too big, so I find myself wasting time splitting them down. Too many packets.
Still, finished at 2.30pm today and at 1.45pm early yesterday and a lot less time in the office, beautiful weather not too hot, so I'm having a good week!
..it'll never last haha

Enjoyed extra 1/2 hour in bed as start time moved later to 8.15am
(for new better service somehow)
. Got letter telling me I had successfully delivered all test letters
. Managed to deliver letters on rural between showers, then got caught in hail shower going home on motorbike. Well impressed with royal mail waterproofs but had to pour out my cat trainers

or as an old solider once said to me.
Its not that the days are any different, its just the quality, quantity and depth of crap we face that changes.

Very good week, was in the office for 5 minutes today, that's the way I like it - sign in, pick up pouch box keys and first bag, and out.
Nice weather, easy walking, finished well in time. Spent about a total of 40 minutes in the delivery office all week!
No doubt back to the grind next week, think im back to a shared van duty instead of bag carrier..

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
My BFF Clash
The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
