Hi chaps ...wondered if any of u guys can help a soul in a tiz....ive been offered a casual temp job over xmas in sorting office with angard ,, the pay is £5.95 hr
im due to go to another interview tomorrow for a factory job which is a permanant position which is also £5.95 hr (40 hr week) ,, the problem im having is there any chance i would be taking on full time with royal mail after the xmas contract runs out....i had a chat with my postie this morning and he said they do keep a few on after xmas ,, but advised me not to opt for deliveies as he said you will be sent out like packed donkey.....i really dont know what to do if iam offered the factory job tomorrow.....(sorting office is plymouth) thanks for ur views and comments..

You have no chance of a full time contract at royal mail. Im know someone whos waiting 8 years.

If your job offer is sorting in a Mail Centre, I'm sorry to tell you that you have virtually zero chance of getting a permanent job.
Mail Centres are being merged and closed and staffing cut. If you are workingin a MC over Xmas, you might be kept on for a week or two into January, depending on the weather and any backlog. If the Xmas post is cleared early, you could get terminated before Xmas.
You would probably stand more chance of being kept on in a Delivery Office - but that would be on a part-time and short term contract.

did you have the interview over the phone with angard or was it a face to face interview?
