What film is that from?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Am I being cynical, or is this Yamashina bloke a bit of a charlatan? I mean, exactly how much is he being paid for pointing out the bleedin' obvious and wrapping it up in a load of mystical-sounding Oriental soundbites?

"Zero is a beautiful number" indeed...

Does that mean I can use this as a defence if I average Zero TPH every week? :hmmmm

I would have more confidence in the Japanese if they hadn't let one of their nuclear power stations go into meltdown.............very slowly :hmmmm
Sorry but can any of us have confidence that they are super efficient when that happens

World Class Mail in full effect!

Keyboard wrist-rests have apparently been deemed "unnecessary" for a keyer to do their job, and have been unilaterally removed...

I wonder if they'll still feel that way when the RSI claims start rolling in...?

(Personally, I blame nights for using them as lightsabres when there's little work...)

Funnier still, coat-stands have apparently been deemed a "potential source of accidents", and will also be removed, meaning that fifty people will now have to put their coats into a single, damp, smelly cupboard designed for about half that number. That'll be nice on those wet winter days, great forward thinking there, guys... :dance

And there was silly old me thinking it was people that caused accidents, not innocent, inanimate objects... probably best not to tell them that though, as using their current mindset, the next logical step will be to sack everyone, thereby reducing the MDEC accident rate to a "beautiful" zero...

I wonder what surreal Stalinist pronouncements today will bring...?

Ah, happy days... :Very Happy

You mean you don't have them?!

Just one of the many luxuries we pampered MDECers demand, along with the chauffeur-driven limos, champagne-dispensing drinks machines and caviar on the menu every day in the canteen.

The coat-stands were brought in years ago to compensate for the lack of cupboards to keep coats in, and we only got those because the management was too tight to splash out on more cupboards.

I'm still wondering if they've thought that far ahead yet... :cuppa

lol, i dont think you will see RSI claims roll in tbh. I can say with quite a bit of confidence what they will do is refer everyone too ATOS too see if they are neccessary and ATOS will more than likely delve into your personal background i.e. if you use computers/mobile phones at home etc, anything else that could lead to RSI... you know how it goes. Before you know it, there is a report at youre managers desk from ATOS where theyre telling youre WAM what you need and dont need which you never signed to say you agreed too etc.. since you dont have to sign to say you agree with ATOS reports these days (or atleast according to some of our wams anyway). It will be all about asigning blame and responsibility onto the party who say they need wrist wrests or any other neccessary equipment.

Far as im concerned i just see this wcm as a waste of money, we should be operating perfectly within legal guide lines anyway. It will no doubt be aimed at assigning blame to an individual to help make it easier for RM to get rid of someone if they have an accident at work and further more, it will be used as a tool to completely undermine work place safety reps.
