No.
If you are dismissed with notice the idea is the appeal will be held before the end of your notice period.
It seldom is.

If you win your appeal you should be entitled to your pay from your last day of notice to your date of re-instatement.
Be careful though because any benefits you may be able to claim during that period will have to be repaid and the DWP will ask if you have an appeal pending.

they will no doubt write you although my dole office has indicated that they probably wont pursue you.

In the mean time I am applying for other jobs just incase, not got anything yet though.

I was told that you have to put the Human resources address for job references is that correct? And can anyone tell me what is on a Royal Mail reference, will it say I was dismissed or just dates I worked there?

Just phoned HR and they told me any references get sent to me for me to forward on to the employer, apparently one will have the dates I worked and one will have my reason for leaving.

if you do get sacked and you apply for another job its best to be honest from the start. they find out why you left 1 way or the other

think the reason for leaving one is sent out with your p45 so you can show the dole office.

if they sent that directly to another employer they would be in the sh1t depending on what they were asked.

The one without the "reason for leaving: dismissal" just has 'dates worked' and then number of days absent. That's nice of them! Making it that bit harder to find a new job (no luck so far).

I am still waiting for the official Royal Mail decision, they're certainly dragging it out. The Employment tribunal wheels are firmly in motion though

they dragged out an appeal with a guy from my branch for 7 months (union official)

he was reinstated and got back 7 months of wages

not all roses though, during the 7 months he could not pay his mortage so lost his house

the longer your case goes on the better, they do not like the et1, thats for sure

Given that his dismissal was wrong, shouldn't Royal Mail be made to pay extra compo for the loss of his house, they were responsible for that and should make up for it.

Yeah, it's not easy. Luckily for me I am renting so get housing benefit at the moment to pay my rent.

Phone keeps getting cut off though as I can't make the bills on time and had to declare my car off road as I couldn't afford the tax/insurance. Cycling everywhere at the moment
