To be fair he didn't call you a twat or accuse you of being middle class per-se, he was asking if you considered yourself middle class and used your comments in your own post to highlight it. :Very Happy :Very Happy :Very Happy

I think the crux of it twobags is,you're working with and manged by muppets.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

then that makes two of us who misread what was said, as i dont remember saying i worked over my time, im fed up of words and talking its clear from reading these threads and posties on here that it all depends on the delivery office you work at its all fragmented and boll***s to me, the union rep in our office is poor for a proportion of the office ,the first week i joined royal mail my second day i was on strike bad timing , but was amazed to see people crossing the picket line and there reason was the mortgage or money ,then later on, the more didnt because the strikes were inafective which i understood as it seemed you were loosing a days pay to do twice the work the day after and before, in our office didnt see any positive result , the way the comment was made can be taken as i read it ,any how its not the point its another thread away from the point, and that is the point of park and loop and the reason its here the pros and cons if any, people working over their time is not the reason it goes way back than that

Interesting reading this thread i must say!

I have just done the changeover training today so will be buddy'ed up come Mon and was wondering how this whole p+l worked.

I won't be going past my time, no idea what the other fella i'm with will be doing and i very much doubt i'll be able to complete my walk given they have added to it and took the bikes off us too.

We are currently getting out asap normally just before 9 but still struggle to get done for 1 ( the bloke who's on it now tells me)

What happens then guys??

It's a '9 day fortnight' so we get 1 in 4 Saturdays off.

To be honest, I like it.

our times changed drastically we moved from 7 start to 9 , the p&l mech is sequenced causing the later start, the times on sorting are very tight an hour fifteen to throw every thing off. your frames should be marked up for loops driver/walker once thrown off redirections done specials collected pdas scanned bag up take bags and oversize packets load up van and your away [1hr 20m] then youll see how good the frames are ,if timings are good and your buddy is equal to you ,you meet back up at van to next loop , some days we do big packets that match loop other days after mail del depends on size and where and how much you have loops can and will be imbalanced if you got a good partner you help each other, trackers also have to be done and scanned ,times havent changed on specials so you have to factor that in .the trolleys are a pain and slow you down but see how you get on hope this helps let us know if need anything else :wave good luck

Cheers twobags that's helpful.

Nobody has explained how this works to me in person as of yet and i'm not sure anyone will the way our office is! seems everyone is just doing it their way and that's that!

I'm looking at it like, drop my buddy off where he wants, agree on where's best to park up then go and do my walk like normal but on foot! no idea if it's as simple as that though!!

Training is non existent these days.

Wrong.

You'll both do one duty, then go off and do the other after.

I like this :Very Happy

I had a chat with our union Rep who explained it a little bit and basically said the walks should take 4 hrs a piece and said doing it out of a trolley has added 30mins to the deliveries, i looked at him like :hmmmm !!

Bottom line was you don't have to work past your time if you don't want which is all i need to hear really not sure what my buddy has to say regards this if he'd like to work past his time, it's a no from me :wave
