The CWU has agreed to geo route. The terms of reference need to be set, call points, walk speeds etc. RM are asking for an average WALK speed of 4mph. That includes delivering mail. with a call rate of about 80% for a 3.5 hour span. Any unit rep that has agreed to this needs shooting. The CWU are looking more to a 2.7mph walk speed with a 93-95% call rate. We were told this at an area union comittee. Until an agreement on these parameters is reached, geo route should not be discussed.

THATS RIGHT MATE, 93-95% IS DEFINATELY MORE REALISTIC!!!

Thanks,Cruisey.
i'm glad someone's made sense of my original post,it got sidetracked by the D2Ds(a seperate issue)
So assuming this is being discussed as part of the ongoing negotiations, can we take it that in any offices where this
has already been implemented,it is merely being trialled.
and as such the walks will need to be re-planned at a later stage,or if you agreed to this locally and signed it off,is
it a mistake your going to have to live with?

We have been told that from Monday 12 November. Our office will be starting the new runs as done by georoute.Could someone tell me are they allowed to bring it in ?. Also, is any other office bringing it in.No good asking our union rep.Boss asked for people to come in today (sunday). To do packet run to clear backlog,we all told him what to do with his packets. But union rep & 3 strike breakers came in.A fine example.

Geo route is the next milestone to be navigated in most delivery offices. Under this agreement, should it be a yes vote, then any changes to be introduced after the agreement would have to be negotiated with reps, or is that consulted? Either way the flexibility card is going to be flogged to death over the next couple of years - anyone not in the scheme of things will be sat down and have it "explained" to him/her. Although the conversation stated that they could not afford the IR framework I have a feeling that he meant the MTSF, though I can't explain why it was just the tone of the meeting at that point.
