We're on 7am starts, but our first wave of sequencing is in for 6, second wave (1/2-1 tray usually) around 8. So there's no actual need for us to start as late as we do.Hitcher wrote:We are on later starts but a) it's still earlier than the sequenced arrival and b) those who come in early are stood around doing nothing.

Re: walk sequencing
the distance you are from the mail centre defines when you get your mail the further you are from it the earlier you get it, the nearer the later ,our office is the closest to the mail centre so we get our mech last between 8.30 and 9.15 to date.so we have been advised................. anybody heard any different ?

I wonder if them css machines are very, very fussy about how the mail is presented and loaded into them.
They are quite fussy, but the vast majority of rejects (mail which still needs to be sorted manually) depends on how accurate the mail in the batches is, when delivered to the MPU's. When DO's are complaining that they have more than one box of manual mail per batch (usually 4 batches per DO) the main reasons for this are:
1. A box (or ten) of mail has been delivered to the MPU with the wrong batch label(s) on it (this happens every night)
2. The barcodes on the letters are unreadable on the CSS machines or they are non existent
3. The CSS operator has made an error resulting in a high number of rejects
There are more reasons.
A lot of people want CSS to fail.
