Feeling victimised by all my male colleagues- please advise

Always my policy to never accept things at face value as they have a very bad habit of coming back and biting you on the bum when you least expect it. However, it would appear that in the original posters case, the sister in question is not only the recipient of feeling victimised solely by her workplace male counterparts as deduced from one of her previous postings.

Been going on for a period of two years or more. One would have thought that in that time span some form of formal complaint would have been initiated by the original poster. Whilst agreeing in general with the thrust of the responses received in particular the posting made by Straight4ward the female in question should have made herself fully conversant with the sexual discrimination and sexual harassment document and of course the Royal Mail Bullying and Harassment document.

As a woman x postie, i held off posting because of that. I really don't know if you are being victimised or are too sensitive to the banter that goes on within RM. No matter, if you feel that u are being picked on then you will need to take it further

Make sure the manager is aware and they do nothing see the Womens Officer at branch and then keep climbing all the way to Linda Roy at CWU HQ if needed.

We need to eradicate this 50s style of management and sexual pestering and if Royal Mail don't they'll be facing claims like this one:

It should be noted that up to 10 women have sued BT recently for sexual harassment that they allegedly suffered at the hands of a number of different men while working for its 'Customer Street' telesales operation.

With regards to the case referred above it emerged this week that her award was the largest made by any tribunal nationwide in 2010/11.


The award included £156,692 for loss of future earnings, £20,000 for personal injury, £18,000 for hurt feelings and £3,000 for aggravated damages.

The employment judge said of her line manager: 'His management style was one of bullying, using offensive, obscene, homophobic and racist language.'
