:lfo :cfo There'll be some sort of compromise on later starts, whatever the deal is I don't think we'll like it too much :so there :so there -------------- KAWAK
In all fairness if there is,say half an hour then would RM do that,as it would look like they have lied, can they take that chance.
Ok we know they have lied but you know what i mean.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The later starts have never been explained. We all know the 56 mph theory is bullshit. So what is the real reason for later starts?

I personally think it is for OAP and housewife deliverers coming in at 9 + and no amount of denial by RM will persuade me otherwise.
There looks to be a compromise in the offing to me.

The more I read about Wal-Mart the more I see parallels with what RM are trying to do now, it has Leighton's grubby little fingerprints all over it :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad :mad

-that's why Stephen Byers of the DTI hired :lfo , Union bashing experience , :lfo Board & Senior Mgrs showed thier true colours in 2003 .
Asda is the same - somebody won £18K at a ET, like Walmart they have a time theft policy , he was actually taking time out to take his necessary medication but the CCTV tape "mysteriously dissapeared ", so there's the same regimentation . I've had some "interesting "chats with thier staff and USDAW reps . GMB took Asda to court over recognition and Asda were fined . Some "interesting "IR stuff in google searches .Asda's DC's have a GMB presence but not their shops. :lfo :lfo

Now I might be being thick hear, but if late starts are not implemented are we being conned into agreeing something that was never agreed in the first place and RM claiming it is a consession on their part?

From what i can gather both sides are still miles apart and are nowhere near any kind of deal.
That may change over the next few days and the one question i asked tonight was WTF have they been talking about the past few weeks?
I do know that there has not been many face to face meetings its all been through the TUC and in the end both sides felt it would be better if they did meet face to face jesus christ this is f***ing school boy stuff!!
Dave and Bob are now meeting 2 from RM everyday this week until sunday to try and work a way through but the word is that tomorrow is crunch time if RM will not move that will be the end.
Its okay taking the morale high ground but will that help us get a fair deal i dont think so.
RM have no morals they never have we can not trust them one bit so why another 5 days? I dont believe the CWU will sell us out at all but i do believe they panic about how long our members will support the strike. They do not want a repeat of 2004's pay deal when we rejected strike action.
I have total faith in Dave and Bob but their careers are firmly on the line here with this dispute.

Can't see them releasing any details on Sunday, don't think :cfo :lfo will be about, :lfo will be preaching bullshit somewhere. The talks will be extended again, will DW & BH be waiting to see what the outcome of the TUC conference is?
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

...........has anyone worked out the timing on this extention - I have a feeling it will take us past the point where we have to re-ballot - have we been tricked - what may have been suggested in order to get the extention may just as well dissappear by sunday.
We wish to serve - but we will not be servile

I have from the very start of this dispute been positive and I am still. It is only a few days more, l am just going to wait and see what happens.

GOOD LUCK TO US ALL AND HAVE FAITH
It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.

I am almost certain you can agree with the employer that if your in talks you do not need to keep the ballot live and that you can resume at anytime IA.
