Would like to ask two questions.
To muzzy - what are the possible flaws or sticking points you can see with the idea?
To everyone else - what are the good points about the idea?

Yes and the Twitter thing would give them an opportunity....muzzy wrote:Lol, if someone wanted to rob you they would know your movements from watching you daily or be an opportunistic thief.

Good Points - I don't actually see any other than customer focus
Bad Points - Expensive, time consuming, safety issues (how many people get mugged for their mobiles?)
Muzzy I don't think it's cos people are stuck in their ways(well some are, but that's usually cos the changes implemented don't work) , I've been there and went out my way to help customers/managers out at my own expense. It doesn't get reimbursed, RM like to keep their pennies well and truly deep in their own pockets.

I do consider myself to be quite an articulate chap and do not swear too much as it does show one to have a low usage of vocabulary .......however...... I've never heard such a load of old b*****s in my life.
Why don't we update our face book status while we are at it ....."Postie is delivering at no.1" "Postie is now delivering at No.2" etc etc..
Is it me ?
I think it might be.

As so often happens you've stumbled through mirth to the true answer. RMpostiecam.com. As you say camera in cap. Broadcast via website so people with broad band phones can see where you are on the street in real time while they are on the move themselves. No problematic fat fingered twittering just honest to goodness man takes piss in hedge viewing for the community. All for managers zapping too if you think they can be trusted to zap fairly.kingofmcr wrote:a camera fitted in your cap linked via global positioning satellite .to the internet ..and a giant zapper fitted to the satellite ..for the manager to zap you with if you show any signs of slowing down

Re: Use of Twitter to let customers know where you are
Muzzy give it six months before you judge your colleauges, soon you will be a reserve postman not knowing what round you are doing, never getting a saturday off. And then you will need to ask questions on this site and no one will take you seriously. Royal mail wont spend money end off, they are running the compnay down to be privatised but I would suggest that you send your idea to Moya then post her reply on here. It would be interesting to see but please do open your eyes as I would be keen to see if you are as keen in six months. Respect needs to be a two way thing and the knowledge on this site is far greater than the knowledge your managers will have.
