The problem of using GPS to track your delivery is that it isn't all that accurate. It will give you an approximate distance but is likely to overestimate. A far more accurate way is to use http://gb.mapometer.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; where you can manually plot your entire delivery door to door. It will take you a while to do but it is a lot more accurate than GPS. You can save your track and refer back to it later.

Not sure how you got to that conclusion. The latest GPS receivers are accurate down to a few metres. I use mine all the time for geocaching.
Anyway, it's just a bit of fun

Well, if you import your gpx track into e.g. google earth you will see that it doesn't show your exact track rather it will zig-zag along. A few metres out x 500 delivery points works out to be quite a lot. You GPS may be more accurate than mine but over the course of a whole delivery there is plenty of room for error. Try out the method I suggested and compare the two.

so i guess walking the driveways is the other 3 miles I plotted on my GPS

Useful tool that

just for teh hell of it i took my GPS out again today, ive been doing a different round every week since after xmas and it amazes me how much easier some are to others.
This weeks round, approx 6.75 miles from office and back again.
The first one i added to this thread was nearly 10 miles!

This round in my opinion is one of the easier rounds in the office. It's a trolley round so walking the entire distance where as the first one I put up is a bike round
