tpm allowance
Hi all, I am working on the OCR machines in mailing center for some time , but my line mangers have always maintained that you are not allowed TPM on the ocr machines, but recently one of the union rep told me that you should get tpm as you are working on the machines regardeless of what type of machine. Can someone put some more light on this topic and please advice what is the right position .

With iLSMs and CSS machines the TPM is apparantly part of the training so all operators of them machines should have it. It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Do you clean/hoover the machine?Have you some tasks(putting some belts back on for example),that you can do without calling out an engineer?If yes,then you are prob due TPM money,if no,then prob no.I used to run an OCR over 12 years ago,long before TPM came out,and all we did was run it,no maintence tasks.TBH i thought RM stopped using OCR/KEYING some years ago!

As has been posted if you are replacing certain belts or hoover the machine you
are entitled to TPM money providing you have been trained to do it, if not then
you dont touch a belt or a hoover, and "HUBBA" GMC only in the last 6 months
got rid of their OCR's although coding was done away with years ago with the
advent of the AI system
