Good Lord, man!
You work for Royal Mail, a company in the grip of manic cost-cutting since 2003, and no sign of an end-game, I think it's safe to say you are in for a hell of a shyte time. :cuppa

make sure you use your trolleys, when you do they slow you down but they are mandatory and managers will try and bully you into not using them once they realize they are the cause of a lot of cut offs.

Started our area today and didnt change the overhead boards complete choas for 5-6 walks = Disgrace.

Some rounds have rows with 1 slot per 2 houses, why oh why didnt the planners use the extensions so upto 12 D2D plus mail for each slot.

They were only changing 12 deliveries out of 70 and totally made a complete mess.

So many culls on P&L today, some double rounds had left three quarters of one round in.

It's a positive if you like the overtime but be prepared for a rough ride if you only want to work your contracted hours .
Even worse if your paired with someone who insists on starting early then gives you grief for having to wait.

If he's that bothered he should throw off your duty.

I started it today (day off yesterday) and can't believe the mess the planner has made of my new one and the paired one which used to be my old duty. Bits backwards, walking past parts you partner has already done to get to another and some parts nowhere near each other.

We also had no clips for the bags.

This is the initiation that nearly every office ( if not all ) must go through on the road to modernisation . At least starting at this time of the year , you have a fighting chance to get on top of things before silly season starts . We started in early December last year and it was chaos . Welcome to the new modernised and efficiant RM :left: .

I work in the Exeter DO.

The last group of jobs changed over to the park and loop way of working around 7 weeks ago.

The office is now a complete shambles!

Loads of mail not being sorted in the morning and many walks not being completed in the allocated time.

Last week a section of our office who have been cutting off were summond to a room where they were told that their prep rate was too slow and for the next few weeks they would be watched by management to see if they were working at the correct speed as it was not the size of the jobs which was the problem.

Management are now walking around with clipboards taking down notes!

Today we were told that if we came back to the office at our finishing time with mail left over we would be done for willfull delay!

Welcome to park and loop!

At our office , If you can't complete by your finishing time and you can't work overtime the line managers must be informed . Decisions between the duty holder and the line manager will be made on what can be delivered . We were told on Friday that under no circumstances do you take mail out you can't deliver . The very same day , one of our lads brought back undelivered mail with no excuse other than he didn't want to work overtime , he has now been suspended . I can't understand why he didn't inform the managers he wouldn't be able to complete . Even out on his duty he could have used a number of excuses why mail went undelivered like , dog loose on street or illness / injury etc . He just dumped the undelivered mail on his frame and went home . Even RM resorted to lying when mail went undelivered last winter . It was the extreme winter weather and not modernisation that caused all the problems last year , honest :angel . ;liar
