Well how about.... instead of writing to our MPs or Newspapers to vent our spleen on the faillings and incompetence
of Royal Mail management (at all levels) why does'nt the CWU take the fight to them by putting together a 5 minute
TV broadcast similar to a Party election broadcast to tell the general public what is happening to our once great service
and how it is being run into the ground so it can sold off cheaply to (probably) some foreign based company who don't/wont
give a rats arse about wether the mail is delivered at 8 in the morning or 8 at night in this country as all their concern
will be is the profit they can make.I honestly believe the general public has'nt a clue about what is going to happen
come privatisation.We are the last of the Utilities to be sold off and anyone old enough to remember the shambles
there was in water,electricity and gas industries for years after their sell-offs will know what i mean.Think Billy & DAVE
are old enough to recall the " TELL SID " adverts, let's hope there is no "Tell Postman Pat "adverts in the future.

Unfortunately, although the public will notice and may already have noticed, they won't do a thing. Oh sure, Mr Angry, from Doncaster will write to the Telegraph and Mr Barely Concealed Racist will vent his spleen to the Mail, but their opposition will amount to nothing. Talk all we want about people power, about sticking together, unity, in this day and age, all people care about is themselves, getting something for nothing. Just look at the riots, no purpose nor reason except violence and theft.

MP's are not to be our saviour either. The ConDems both want privatisation, Labour also wanted it, are we going to somehow magic a new political party out of thin air and install it in parliament in less than a year?

Can I point our a MAJOR flaw in your position. Your stance Is that people posting on here do nothing else but post on here, what do you base that on.


I have personally met people who contribute to RMC on different Marches from London to Leeds and Manchester to Bradford. I have joined protest Campaigns on-line, by E mail and in the real world. I have contacted my local MP, MEP's and local councillors, I have written to Local, National and regional newspapers all in an effort to highlight the problems I see in Royal Mail and the wider world. I suspect that a lot of other members do as well, but don't broadcast the fact.

But even if they aren't so what this is a Democracy where people have the right to protest, and that means the right not to as well. Just because we consider ourselves activists does not make us better than an ordinary postie who just wants to get on with their job and enjoys logging on here and posting comments, or even better than those that lurk on here. We all have different priorities in life and who are we to say that they have theirs wrong. To paraphrase what some say on RMC "Worry about your own priorities and let others worry about their own".

I do respect you for being an activist so well done on that, but please, don't base what people do in the real world by what they post on here.

Done the letter writing bit both to papers and MPs and a waste of time that was, been on marches demo`s and strike and a waste of time that was, spoken to MPs and CWU Union leaders and that was a waste of time, filled out petitions and spoken to RM customers and a waste of time that was! Been on RMC and learnt stuff and had a good moan and have found both helpful so you don’t make any sense to me or i presume many others on RMC?
