Armed robbery at a post office in Weymouth today

TWO local men in their fifties have been arrested after an armed robbery in a Weymouth post office.

Dorset Police has confirmed that the robbery took place at 9.24am this morning at the Broadmeadow Post Office in Portland Road.

During the robbery a shotgun is believed to have been used but no shots were fired.

Staff are reported to be 'shaken up' but not injured.

Six minutes after the robbery police officers arrested two men in their fifties in Hereford Road, Westham after a foot chase.

A vehicle and a shotgun have been recovered from the scene.

The two males are currently in police custody.
