How many offices are now actually on the magical 39hr week?
There seems to be very few who have managed to meet the targets set for Walk sequenced mail to achieve the Shorter working week?

Is there any review on the target or are they just set in stone.
Our office has been set a 2nd target of 79% walk sequenced mail before we reach our 2nd target and receive the shorter working week and of course the £600 lump sum.

On a list displayed in our office there is only 1 office in the country who has ever met a target of 79% and they only managed that for 1 week.

We used to be banking 0.5hr leave each week until we reached our 2nd target, this was seen as some what of a bargaining tool for the management to put effort in to reaching the 2nd target unfortunatly our union rep agreed at the managments request that the 1st target half hour was impleted in time as the banked hours had reached over 17hrs and the business would not be able to afford the extra leave.

Now quite frankly it seems the management don't really give a damn if we reach the 2nd target or not.

Any other offices in a similar situation?

We are in the MC forum.
I know some of the super MCs are big ...but park and loop......?

There is a National team looking into why so many MC's have failed to reach the 2nd payment trigger stage. I wish them well but the targets are set too high and are out of the control of OPG's although we get told it's our fault!

i know for a fact that carlisle mail centre are on 39hour week as i was talking to one of their drivers and he said they had started it in july

Shorter working week? One hour for us, and judging by how early the lazy fool at our place slopes off, six hours for the least productive element.

Aberdeen had a 2nd target of around 39% i believe,
If every office had a low target I am sure we would all have met them by now.

Bristol Mail Centres target is 73%. Its dragged on for ages. We have been told we havent achieved it due to our actions only to find out that they hadnt even attempted to sequence mail for certain delivery offices. Apparently the highest achieved was 72.8%. Weve accepted that they will pay it only when their ready to pay it. Last target like this was only met when the expiry date was up and they had to lie in the end.

Is any office banking the first half hour as annual leave?
As i said in my first post we was untill the Union rep agreed to enforce it as time (at management request).

we were told that there was a 16hr maximum bank limit and we had exceeded that.

We banked the half hours until two days annual leave were accumulated, which everyones taking 2011/12. Since then we have to take 1/2 hours each week at start of shift. Area Rep contacted head office but this seems to be the unwritten rule of two days. I bet no one was allowed to take it as SA rate as under the BTA.

we have the 30mins on the quietest day of the week on the end,but have been stuck on the 70%ish mark for the 2nd part for months as well.Im sure its being left like that so they don't trigger it,and it seems ALL MC's are in a similar boat on this!

what you mean is the managment didn't like it anymore so invented the rule.

As soon as we were no longer allowed to bank the time we lost our only weapon in the fight.

39% sounds about right, but they only sequence for 5 or so offices wave 1, and like 2-3 wave 2

I don't understand how each office has a different target when it is based on percentages.
I have asked our manager on more than one occasion how the target of 79% was decided upon but no suprise he still cannot give me the answer
