Yes that should be done across the board as the agreement does say that when identified to a walk the equipment is mandatory.

I understand why people want to use a bag and as long as they understand the consequences, which are.

1. Possible conduct issue.
2. Giving management a chance for lapsing if time permits.
3. Possible musculoskeletal damage, with no come back to RM.

then there is not much we can do but frown from the sidelines.

Of course if they can get the Union and management to recognise sub 8 kg pouches as authorised for a particular loop then that wold be ok, but again it does give lapsing opportunities as its quicker.

The improper use of HCTs in order to make a whole depot section appear to "work" is going to come to a head very soon.

Out of intrest, what is the consensus on delivering a HCT assigned walk on o/t, as in should any part of that walk always be delivered by HCT or is it acceptable to deliver by pouch (providing <16Kg or <11Kg weight limits are observed)?

Should point out this WTL was done by union guy the manager just stood there staring at his clipboard.

We had 2 trolleys for every p/l walk but mysteriously a lot have gone missing in the office.

So affected posties/walks are not being delivered then? No correct equipment to do the job, no delivery, simples!

If that is the delivery method identified during the planning stage yes.
Each delivery should be individually assessed for the most suitable delivery method.

Watching my Postie the other day...he's got a van and I believe he should be using a LWT for delivering my road, which is fairly long. Instead I see him walking along with an arm full of Bundles and a Large, bulging bag over his shoulder! Some people will never learn!

The local office has had it's Revision (taken the money) and then just basically "Gone Native" with the Posties pleasing themselves....... I mentioned the LWT to a couple of the local Reserves, i.e "Do you realise you should have a Trolley in your van to carry the weight ?etc.." They hadn't even been told about them........obviously coming in after the WTLL!

Needless to say quite a few are complaining about the workload........but they're pulling against a "Senior Mafia" of Old Posties that are just determined NOT to change their ways. I've suggested they get a nearby Rep in to help sort it, but you can't fight everyone's wars for them, especially when they seem unwilling to help themselves!
