what would happen if these postman have an accident while on duty.also how would they stand in an insurance claim.
as for your o/c he would either be moved to another office or instant dismissal for fraud.

they would still be covered by insurance, its not illegal to work your annual leave, it is only against the way forward agreement, so the manager is not committing fraud when people do over time whilst on annual leave

It clearly states in the Way Forward Agreement that it is not allowed.
What is the point of any agreement if we (and the managers) only stick to the bits we like?
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

And you wonder why offices are understaffed, jobs going left, right and centre,full-timers replaced by part-timers,duties lapsed and never filled.
As long as some numbnut gets to work his annual leave all is good. :cuppa

What has someone working a couple of days on AL got to do with 'jobs going left right and centre, FT replaced by PT, duties lapsed'?????

Nothing at all!!

The benefit is your colleague getting a bit extra cash to help their family get by!!!

There are lots of things written in the way forward - just as there are lots of things in the way forward that are ignored :cuppa

i agree with that the only problem being some of these people take the best weeks in holiday pick then always work them if they want to do that fine but give them the last pick

I'm no expert on RM being a newbie and all that, but it appears to me that as long as all the mail leaves the building and no customers complain, then all is ok in RM world and as you say no managers give a s**t..... fine by me
