This is exactly how I see it going.fishtank wrote:
Just messing but how it could be done is one full-time/one part-time.
Full-timer preps both duties...part-timer arrives.
Full-timer drops part-timer and bags off...part-timer does 3.30 delivery and goes home.
Full-timer does 3hr delivery plus the packets and specials and returns to the office.
All of the benefits(for RM) of P&L without the inefficiencies.
50% part-timers and weight on the shoulder for us.
Only it will morph just like the waysider duties into.....
PT comes to office in own car & takes own bags out
FT uses own car to do own delivery with packets the lot.
Voila no need for so many vans, savings made on cost of vans & more time for FT to do more work in own car.
FT & PT happy because they still get flyers or so they think
This ain't no baseball game, you get only one chance and you blew it.

The major problem there as is now,is what do ye do with a Full-timer who cant drive?fishtank wrote:

the only solution under your scenario Fishtank is switching the outdoor content, with
the Full timer doing the 3.30 delivery span and then home! cant see much FTs in my office
being unhappy with that........though even with bag over shoulder i can still see
the union agreeing to a 4.15 span with some token H&S,as thats what i believe Glasgow
and some areas have been doing before BT2010 was even introduced.

This is exactly what they are proposing but the use of trolleys and longer delivery spans is still anticipated.fishtank wrote:

Unless longer spans are achieved you are right that a 50/50 split is the probable outcome.
Job and finish goes as both return to the office at the end of the duty after clearing undelivered packets from the drop boxes of the walker.

Re: West of scotland delivery function BT 2010
A meeting scheduled for Wednesday between Area Delivery Reps and Divi reps to discuss current situation where BT 2010 has effectively broken down in West of Scotland. Terms of Disagreement at respective HQ's and form part of National talks to ensure RM abide by BT2010. Can only guess how these are going.
Hopefully Area Safety Reps will be aware that we are also discussing the 'Tenement study' impact on Full time status in Units. Mysteriously RM are now referring to "19th Century" tenements! Perhaps someone has confused this with their love of "19th Century management practises".

I am actually waiting for one of them to point out that one building was built in 1902 and consequently it is Edwardian and exempt from the recommendations of the Tenement Study.Tamsky wrote:.

I don't get this, uncle Bob at the London briefing said the agreement is there, just wave it in your managers face,is there no waving at these metings then?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Do we still have to guess how these talks are going or is there an update?Tamsky wrote:A meeting scheduled for Wednesday between Area Delivery Reps and Divi reps to discuss current situation where BT 2010 has effectively broken down in West of Scotland.
