Dear Colleagues
NEC & National Representative Elections 2011 – Announcement of Ballot Results
Please be advised that the ballot results for the above elections will be communicated as follows:
1 ERS have advised us that the count of the ballot papers should be concluded at approx 15.00 on the 17 August 2011. Following this they would then be in a position to produce the required ballot certificate and declare the results between 16.00 -17.00 on the 17 August 2011. Once the results have been verified they will then be delivered by hand to the General Secretary.
2 On receipt of the certificate, the General Secretary will then make arrangements for an LTB containing the results to be immediately sent to all branches by email.
3 Additionally, where the candidates have provided us with a current email address, we will send a copy of the LTB direct to all candidates standing in the respective ballots.
4 The results will also be posted on the CWU Website.
Any enquiries regarding this matter should be directed to the Senior Deputy General Secretary department for the attention of Peter Metcalfe:-
Telephone: 0208 971 7368

Yours sincerely
Tony Kearns
Senior Deputy General Secretary

Re: NEC & National Representative Elections 2011 : LTB 713/1
The reason they are later than normal is that this year at conference we had a special rules revison session. This meant there were various proposals to reduce the NEC , Telecoms executive and the Postal Executive. At the rules revison it was agreed to reduce the National Executive , it was agreed to remove the indoor national officers role on the postal department and the telecoms executive was reduced. It was also agreed that the term of office would now be two years.mucker#1 wrote:Why are the Elections later than usual? Results are usually posted at Conference!
The rule changes came into force the day after conference so the national elections were put back from its normal slot of before conference to after conference in order for the rules changes and reductions to take place.
