Re: The "How was your day" thread.
Odd day today. Had a special early on in my walk which I didn't get rid of. Had to ram it back into the bag and swap it into each new bag as a consequence. Unfortunately for me, it seems this particular special contained something musical - be it a toy, one of those silly kids books, whatever - which meant that every time the bag nudged against me, or any time I put it down for a second, this musical tune would start playing. I got some strange looks when I was walking past people. Taurus, the magical musical postman. Maybe this is the way to re-engage the public, keep a music box in our pouches and have a theme tune, a la ice cream vans, to announce our arrival ...

i had a crap day! Humid ,very heavy with mags and a high drop ratio. Went 30min over.
didnt absorb obviously even though it had been expected because of the "light" mail.

Finished an hour earlier today than yesterday. Don't know how true it is but I did hear a rumour that yesterdays heavy traffic was due to staff not getting in to Mcr Mail Centre due to the rioting nearby.

I wouldn't bother the picture either..some of our frames are joined and run half the length of the building...it doesn't mean one guy does it though.
this was a question i asked not long ago, about the duty ide been offered and what they expected. (i never had a regular duty) Think it was my first post if you look back..
you might believe that what im saying about the size of this duty then.

Slightly easier than most Saturdays. Small gaps here and there and about 15 packets total. Had 3 recorded items throughout and delivered the lot. Dry and humid day. Only 2 of us took their break today, the other bloke took about 20 minutes. I took the whole break and I know I wasn't the last back because I saw a girl making her way to the office. Fed up with people cutting corners to save time but think its a losing battle. Anyway, off for a week now. Birthday on the 14th. Yippeeeee!

1st time i went out myself on Saturday and it was terrible. Left the office at 9:15 and did not return untill 2:45 and arrived to find the delivery office was closed and my car was locked inside with my bloody rugby kit.
. They did not tell me they closed up at 2 and I had a few parcels and mail, I was not able to deliver so had to put them in the nearest red postbox.
Also had a few specials and managed to lose my signing card in the van , so had to put them in the letterbox without them being signed for .
On top of that i missed the start of my game , at least we won
Hoping this is as bad as it gets for me and it can only get better

Loads of packets today, 2 DB at my frame when I got in. Feet and knees hurting and only walked 7 1/2 mile today
So keep on moving, moving, moving your feet

Seen the news today? It was F Wet! 2 weeks rain in one day. Locally we had 1 inch of wet stuff in an hour!
I thought F this for a game of soldiers. Last week I was putting on Sun Block and suffering because I'd forgot me cap... Today I had Trench Foot by the Time I finished....
I nearly had a "Basil Fawlty" moment trying to write out a 739 in torrential rain!

Only 6 people return at our place, the rest go straight home. On a Saturday our gates are closed around 12.30DGP1 wrote:I know, I was pulling your legkgrant34 wrote:Sorry would like to clarify ,i was out on a Saturday.
