Muslim Staff going for friday prayer I would like to know how your office deals with this and how does your DOM handle this please as much info possible all answers much appreciated

We have a fella who has been switched to indoor duties because he's fasting. Too weak therefore to do a walk. RIGHTO, good one, pal! I may convert to Islam next Ramadan too (actually, he's in the Callers Office so perhaps not such a great idea!). He doesn't go to Friday prayer though

Still, surely this comes under right to practice your religion? But I don't know where you draw the line with this?

We have a muslim lad in my office and he leaves early every friday , doesnt have to make the time up . The DOM seems to scared to say anything (in case religious discrimination comes into it)

DOM made me do my walk 3 days after Christmas day lunch blow out... despite waddling round in obvious pain. Could still taste Christmas dinner at Easter if I burped. Ahhhhh it was a good one that!

Stop worrying about what other people are doing and just worry about your job, if someone wants to spend time doing whatever then that's up to your DOM to deal with.......................the sooner everybody starts concentrating on their own jobs the better (great words but even I get sucked into the jealous mode sometimes ).

Hand book?? Blimey, I thought they just had a blank book that they filled in details as and when they see fit.

Not in the book or owt but my opinion is they should be made to make up for lost time, why should anyone be treated different/get away with working less just because of a religion?

A guy in our office cuts off all the time, then when Friday comes he flies around and finishes early to go for prayer.

You've got a good point about making up the time. But on the other hand, everyone should be able to practice their Religion. I'm sure there'd be a lot of very angry Posties, if we had to start doing compulsary Sundays. Also, I hadn't realised that Jews were made to work Saturdays. Why aren't there special arrangements for them?
Why aren't they allowed to practice their Religion like Christians, Muslims, etc.?
