Subject: FW: Fatigue Study

Dear All

Please find attached email from Richard Moor which contains the final version of the CSS fatigue study.
Please note the comment regarding the time off the machine for MPU’s, and the requirement for anti fatigue matting for all CSS machines.

Bob

As discussed last week please find attached a final version of the fatigue study.

Speaking with Jane Dillon on the back of this she is happy for us to continue to use the advice that a 20 minute break for other work should be the minimum standard going forward. I believe this caveat in our guidelines can now be removed

Our biggest concern was the fatigue on feet and ankles and hence our decision purely for this piece of equipment (and not setting a precedent for any other) to provide anti fatigue matting for every CSS machine.

If you need any further information please don’t hesitate to give me a call

Thanks

Richard

Thanks for posting this.
Batch size did not have a significant impact on reported discomfort and fatigue. It was not possible to assess the impact of batch sizes above 7k
That a joke or what ?

batch size has a massive impact ! :evil/mad

particularly if its 1500 or less or over 6000.

From what I read, the average batch sizes were 4000. Ours are either under 2000 or over 6000, sometimes 8000. (Sometimes we actually get the magic 5000!) Even with a batch of 8000 there is no point in splitting it as it will still take 45-50 minutes and you'll be just as tired, if not more so, doing twice the number of batches.

Still a whole lot easier than lugging bags around the streets....and no d2d.

A 10 hour shift on the CSS or a 6,7 or 8 hour shift on deliveries....mmmm, let me think.
