The 'On the Vans' thread

What's the story?
I Wrote-During Covid-Which is still relevant now
It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

We've been on the vans for 5 months now and will not go back. Best thing that ever happened in Burslem. Good company at meal breaks and on the vans and everyone accepts that our work hours are 5am to 1pm but we're giving the screws nothing for free :dance :dance
Can't even remember the last time I saw a postman use their car or start early :nana :nana
IF RM ARE THREATENING LEGAL ACTION AGAINST PEOPLE IF THEY STOP USING THEIR CARS YOU KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMETHING IN IT FOR THEM THAT YOU ARE MISSING OUT ON :no no :no no
work out your petrol costs alone and it will probably be over £500 a year, thats more than the pay rise and bonus that they are offering combinded :d'oh! :d'oh! :d'oh!

Just curious, have you got the right to be picked up and bought back to the office to collect your cars ect?
Our callers office is closed at 1pm we finish 1-45pm,can they stop the vans picking us back up?

Not sure if this applies everywhere but all our duties were structured to have a van take them out and bring them back and it is on the drivers 318 and walking PM should return with any kill offs , docket lefts ect anyway. Never used to actually happen because RM wanted you to use your car and turned a blind eye to Health and Safety and everything else ,working on the theory that all Postmen are to thick to realise what they are giving away.

They probably got that right for a few years aswell but hopefully we're waking up a bit now :Applause :Applause :Applause :Applause

  My Office have been on the vans since Monday. We have got behind the rep 99%. The screws don't know whats hit 'em, they're running round like headless chickens. Everybody has a smile on their face because they know they are giving some back and proving these efficiency savings bollox is bollox. So far jobs created are 4 three monthly rollover contract walkers. (feel sorry for 'em they are being jerked about from pillar to post and they decent people like you and me who thought they were coming to a good company. SOME HOPE!!!!) 2 driving duties and they still can't cope. The impact is massive. It affects on every part if the operation. For instance, maintainence engineers could not complete a pre-booked job because the cars that would normally be out on delivery were blocking them out. The arrogant MiniLeightonjookalike that is our DSM Gio/John diMarco/Smith is feeling the tightening of the noose around his wobbling adams apple. Burslem we salute you, Dave Condliffe we act to support you, L TOMMO we dedicate our action in your name :Applause :Applause :Applause :dance :dance :dance :wave :wave :wave :cuppa :cuppa :cuppa :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :Very Happy :Very Happy :Very Happy :Very Happy :whistle :whistle :whistle

D Day 14th May

Post by POSTMAN »

Rep got a letter today about executive action being implemented on 14th May.
Nights to go in 30 days, van picking up posties in the morn to go.
Rest day cover to be turned into 30hr OT duty.
One of our drivers left bout 2 months ago and this has not been taken into account.
Apparently there's bout 5 or 6 others in SE as well.
Mood is bad at our place and we're up for it.

weve still heard nothing at our office. one of our nights took the E.V and has`nt been replaced. but if we are to have no early pick ups no nights and rest day covers on 30 hrs then theres trouble ahead. not sure if an all out strike will work though.

come on you people out there get your self organised like we have in Stoke on Trent. We have hit our area on a massive scale with getting back on the vans. It got so bad that managers were still delivering in the ST5,ST7,ST3 Areas at 1700 hrs on most days last week. Our DSM captain mannaring spit his dummy straight out and started trying to intimidate the lads ans lasses but it didn't work so he banned private car use for those who got on the vans the PRICK so he did our unions job WELLDONE MR DeMarco.

Also welldone Longton for not crumbling to management bullying tactics staying 200% behind your rep who i believe is standing upto the caveman of a manager that they have put in there to try and break you. This manager as a track record of being violent towards people so stick together and you'll get this knob.

BURSLEM we salute you for giving us this momentum stand firm against the scouser/yorkshire/fake armani/ bully that you have in there at the moment watch yer backs he is the most vindictive lieing coward who hides away in offices away from the floor and only comes out to show he can make people sorry i correct myself GIRLS/LADIES CRY SHAME ON YOU McCANCER.

:nana :nana I'm from Longton and my REP has asked me to pass on the following messageThank you MR POSTMAN Sir, for creating this site and enabling POSTIES up and down the UK to share their knowledge, info and experiences with others. He's found the Posts I've been passing on to him invaluable especially the one from WEOMC on 'CUT OFF' which he used to educate us LONGTON Guys and Gals as we had never done it before. He's a great admirer of the BOSLEM BOYS and told us if we didn't support him he was going to ask for a transfer to Burslem. MR POSTMAN Our REP dedicates week2 of our ON THE VANS TO ROYALMAILCHAT :Applause :Applause :Applause :funneh :funneh KWACKERS
