It's a bit of a cheap shot by the union...in my humble opinion.

i havnt been in long, when i rang to join the union the only question regarding hours was "PT or FT?".

obviously if you work less than 40 hrs the answer is PT, but fish did put a doc up a week or so ago showing its not quite like that.

EDIT: Ok, looks like billy ran out of pies. Its a CWU increase to counter act the wonderful pay-rise they fought for us.

no i am working the same hours 34.30 and my union fees have gone up by £1.37 a week. i was paying £1.64 a week now i am paying £3.01. funny when it comes to bonuses its pro rata except when its union fees

yes thats right i work 34.30 hours a week my union fees were £1,64 a week and are now £3.01 when i rang wages they have been told by the union that anyone working over 30 hours has to pay full union fees, i dont pay the political fees and never have, its funny when it comes to bonuses its pro rata except when IT comes to union fees. MAX.

Got my wage slip this morning,CWU subscriptions are the same but noticed that my income tax had reduced by 20p.Never do OT so get the same amount on pay slip every week.

WE WORK AT WREXHAM DELIVERY OFFICE AND WERE TOLD THAT ELECTION PAYMENTS WOULD ONLY BE PAID ONCE THEY ARE ALL DELIVERED WE THOUGHT THAT WAS ACROSS THE BOARD?

think ive bin ripped off with election payment ,does last saturdays get paid today or next week?

I handed mine in on a Saturday and had to wait till next but one pay day for it to be shown.

can anyone shine any light or remember that when we had early shift allowance we were told that anyone over 50 years of age would keep the early shift allowance and not lose it, there are quite a few of us that have lost it.

Well I have to say that I was in favour of a single payment for all members - regardless of hours worked, the same facilities are available to everyone with regard to representation - whether or not it's worth it is another question. If you look at it with regard to a proprtional FT/PT split - then an office with a 99%/1% will pay proportionately more than an office like mine with a 55%/45% split. So, perhaps a fairer way of deciding what the subs should be would be to have the proportion of take home pay as the guiding figure - those who earn more pay more.

You have to get the number of your local branch, Manchester, Liverpool or where ever. Ring them and tell them you want to stop paying the political levy. They will send you a form, you complete it and return it to them. They do the rest, I stopped mine after only a week of me sending it back to them.

been pestering my union rep for weeks cos he said it was just an error and everyone should be paying £1.90 but those on contracts between 30-33 hours were being charged £3.11. Obviously he has been lying to us for 3 months, until I came here I was under the impression when the mistake was rectified I would be refunded the overpayments. Definitely cancelling first thing monday morning, not worth £1.90 a week, definitely not worth an insultingly whopping 63% increase
