i,m a rep and have been for about 3 year,s my advice to any members is make sure you have a rep in your office / unit to stop managers taking the p**s.

Welcome Godric to CWU rephood

Its tough task on the front line, but the mbrs in your workplace will be better off with you by their side than having no rep at all.

Good luck and get on Postal Agreements and Procedures course ASAP and do skills 1 2 and 3 over the next 12 months.

There's been a big turnover in my branch and area reps ,lots of fresh faces ,and I must say I am very pleased with the culture change that followed,approachable, dynamic and seeking out members who need help and advice. Not implying that all long serving reps are lazy careerist sh***s that are far too cozy in their secure management lined havens,just that some new blood has certainly injected fresh vigour into my stale area union

i have already had a couple of run ins ... both times they were sorted out quickly .... i suppose i hade to take some of the flak for a change whilst standing up for my fellow comrades and the office

Got my paperwork through for the Union Skills course at Alvescot.....handed it in to the book room to be told 'no problem, but you'll be on delivery on the Saturday as the course is Mon-Fri', can't win can you

You have paid release for five days.
If you work Saturday that's...six days.

Saturday is your day off, if you work then that's overtime!

I've done USK 1 and USK 2 this year and both times had Saturday off.

Bit disappointed with the Rep.Today in no uncertain terms he told me I was a useless Sub and I don't make an effort to learn stuff. He made a point to tell me that the sub rep in the MC has taken the time to learn bits & pieces. He gets an hours release a day I get f**k all....I'm expected to do a full duty and learn stuff without being pointed in the right direction as to what I'm meant to be learning. I despair

TBH I don't think he wants anyone stepping in his limelight

What a fing disgrace your rep is!!!

He should be helping you become a effective rep for the good of the membership.

I would love to have a sub rep, sub reps should be relished and cherished.

as for the title who is a rep on here? come on show ureselves please. listen here i have just been on holiday and seen a postman delivering at 2.30 pm yes 2.30pm. i was so disgusted by this i stopped and asked what the hell he was doing he said the whole office had change a few weeks ago and the union weren,t there or couldn,t be bothered to defend the decision made by management in his office so aswell as revision thay have had to absorb 80 hours work and lose 2 vans. our office is to go through revision in the next month and i have heard that the union guy has the best job and sod everyone else. now listen here WHY are we paying our subcriptions if the union are being steamrolled and not give a s**t about the workers that pay every week into the sinking ship to be. please please please why are the union not helping us through this rough time? well when an area rep comes to my office and asked us to strike (THE ONLY TIME YOU SEE EM ) i shall say got to hell and back. P.S WHERE IS THE UNION ??????????? in an office doing sod all all day
