no compulsory use of trolley

Why would we need to wait for talks?
Is the use of trolleys in a revision planned around the use of trolleys mandatory or not?
Or alternatively...are RM to be allowed to move the goalposts to allow their savings to be achieved?
It's not a difficult one to answer...especially for Dave Joyce...surely.

listen idiot i can only control what i do and yes i do the job right! i go out with my driver,use drop points then catch the bus back then drive my car home! If we all had your attitude the gaffers wud love it, some of us still have a spine and dont go round like children saying well if they do it i can blah blah blah! no wonder the union is losing power when idiots are giving it away

Can someone tell me what delivery methods are used when there are no pavements on your streets ? I deliver to quite a posh newish estate and most of the closes are quaint windy ones with no pavements , you walk along the road.Can your walk be planned to use a trolley in such circumstances and if not what do we use when park and loop is being planned ?

Do you believe that your current method of delivery is safe? (walking along a road with no pavements). Since you appear to have accepted that fact by delivering that way, then what aspect of doing it using something which makes it easier to balance changes that?

Well two things spring immediately to mind:

1. Your ability to step out of the way and/or move quickly should be improved by not carrying up to 16Kg on your shoulder.
   The width of the loaded trolley in the road should not be much different to yours when fully laden with a shoulder pouch.
2. The LWT should not be left on the road, it should be left in a responsible position at or near the entrance of the drive.

During our thorough discussions with RM what did come out from the regional security guy was that an LWT was not to be left AT ALL. We argued that this was not technically possible and that we thought it was up to one minute but he said absolutely not. So even if you were delivering to semi detached flatts you had to unhook your bag and take it up and down and re-attach

This of course was all supposed to be down within a relatively normal delivery time.

I also (just for info) didnt realise a HCT could/should only be left alone for up to 5 mins at any time, not used as a semi mobile pouch bag as in our area.

Update.

Entered into dissaggreement to stop the remaining sections going through the revision until we have clarification on when and where a trolley should be used.

Unfortunately management have decided at the meeting last Friday by not knowing our position we agreed to carry on and use pouches and despite dissaggreement are carrying on with the remainder of the revision based on a "common sense" approach ( i read into that pouches, as much as you can carry and as fast as you can walk). Dissappointing!!!

From Noel McClean - a list has been sent to RM of offices where RM management are believed to be encouraging the use of pouches post revision and our D.O features on that list.

By unattended with respect to both the LWT and HCT it means out of sight and i agree with that.
The security procedures do state 1 minute for the LWT(low or medium risk) and up to 10 minutes(low risk) or 5mins(medium risk)for the HCT.
In a high risk area neither should be left unattended at all.
