Maidenhead postie loses locks for charity

Postal worker Lorraine Evans had her head shaved for charity on Sunday.

The 45-year-old, who lives in Bailey Close, Maidenhead, had all her hair shaved off in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The task was carried out in front of family and friends at the home of her sister Linda Creffield in Heywood Court Close.

As the final tufts dropped at her feet Lorraine said: "It's quite a drastic thing to do because I love my hair, well, I did love my hair."

She was delighted to have smashed her fundraising target of £1,000, largely due to the sponsorship of households on her Holyport delivery round.

To date she has raised £3,700 which will all go directly to the charity that helps victims of cancer and their families.

It is a cause close to heart as husband Martin fought off the disease 20 years ago. He rewarded his fundraising wife an ice cold beer and a kiss.
