stay strong you are not alone

yeah i know about walk seq. coming to Killie in august ... either way the s**t is going to hit the fan ... this week we've been told if you work your day off (Full timers) you start at 8am :Sick and your duty is prepped in for you (aye right) as well as the part time duty you prep in (thats if you are not on the ips ... even less sorters on the ips) so basically they want us to come in for 5 - 6 hours work .. this is to last till the end of summer (they said the same about lapsing) .... we have all told JD we ain't working our days off again ... we don't have a union rep any more .... i am thinking about doing it ..... but i am really militant ... maybe to militant for the job

I think the big problem is enough aren't militant enough. :cuppa

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

my problem when it comes to agreements i can't say the "Y" word .... i have voted NO for every agreement since i started in april 1990 ... i tend to get quite aggressive when talking with managers ... they only hear what they want to hear

Phase 3 flexibility requires DOMs and REPs to try and increase efficiency when there is sick leave. In my D.O we have been absorbing IPS work and having people in working their day off on prep and delivery only, this means the amount of O/T hours going in is less than the scheduled AWD hours. We manage perfectly well as the IPS is still done on time. The troops still get back from delivery on time/early. This week one mbr turned down O/T on his day off as the minimum amount of hours on offer was not enough for him and no scope to make time.

I like what 'north london driver' has said about RM giving the planners EVR lol, its about right for them! Th emajority of RM's problems are down to bad management and the rest is down to losing the monopoly and the way in which we were so heavily disadvantaged by the postcomm

We currently have 4 planners in our office. well two planners paired two with managers (who they have no work for) one pair for collections and one for deliveries

Sorry just caught this one POSTMAN :d'oh! . Postal workers never will be "militant" enough with just the CWU, they need to look outside of RM / CWU for inspiration. RM / CWU have destroyed most all fighting spirit leaving just bitterness in its place. "Militant." What does that mean to you? I personally don’t care for the label as with most labels they seem to be negative and i would prefer the statement "a worker that stands up for what is right for themselves and their fellow workers," it does not fall off the tongue smoothly but there is no ambiguity about the statement and no negativity that the media pull up against any workers struggle.
