1. How much the CUSTOMER has suffered with Royal Mail not even bothered.
2. Job security has gone down the pan.
3. Constant lies Royal Mail tell us.
4. 3pm finish (or later) were as at one time customers used to set their clock by us delivering the mail at their house.
5. Royal Mail never promote good work opposed to failed posties electing themselves as Line Managers.
6. Happy atmosphere is a thing of the past at work, now it is a race to get out of the office.
7. Extra work we do now is NOT in line with our pay.
8. The Goverment Royal Mail and now the customers are opposed to us in that the service they are getting is dire.
The list goes on and to be honest it is only the wage at the end of the week that keeps us all at Royal Mail and sadly that is NOT good enough as we spend a lot of time at work in our lifes.
Have I missed anything else

Re: Calling all senior Posties (over 20 years service)
I know the technology and mail volumes have moved on and dropped (supposedly :PPPPP),but do you guys in this thread remember when we used to finish our 1st deliveries, come back to office for a proper breakfast/meal relief.
And actually had the time to sit down, enjoy your cuppa and read the morning papers.I used to have a trolley delivery, delivering to the local solicitors and banks, before making my way back to the local railway station to collect the mail bags for the second deliveries.
Yep,you heard me right .... ---> SECOND DELIVERIES ...,Remember Them ? .............. Perish the thought,we even used to go out on our second deliveries using Royal Mail BIKES
I for one used to take great pride in delivering the queens mail, having time to chat to regular customers, being accepted as part of the local community ... and so on ......
Hell,we used to be supplied with torches so as we could see the addresses and letterboxes. We could smell the bacon and egg being cooked,as the sun began to rise.
And now,you are out in the hottest part of the day,WITH NO MEAL RELIEF BEING TAKEN (As in lunch .... 12pm - 2pm),with the kids often coming out of school before we get back to the office.
I for one feel very sorry for the important people, associated with Royal Mail <-------------> Our customers .......

Typical view from a driverDumpys Rusty Nuts wrote:26yrs and counting, ive been drivingfor the last few years after 20 plus years on the rounds and work to my time most days, take a break when needed, all this moaning about the jobs finished and so on done by posties who have been used to finishing well before there finishing time[ie, 2 deliveries, nobody ever worked till 12.30 in my office,if they did a 2nd delivery at all]if the postmen just got it in there head that they dont start before there time, dont rush about, and are now finishing mid afternoon they will find it isnt that bad.
NO bags on shoulders please except for Moya who keeps her big fat wage packet in hers

Judging by the amount of posties who "can't wait to get out of this sh*thole RM" and then seem to reappear wearing agency bibs within 6 months, you're probably right.
Maybe they won't be quite so ready to believe the pub talk BS of how life is sooo great out in the Real World, next time....

Dito, the moaners and whingers strangely enough are drivers in which they seem to be pushing their luck as they do only 50% (work) of what a postie does, I know this as a fact as I used to do driving/rural duties.Dumpys Rusty Nuts wrote:ROYAL FAIL, i still do the occasional walk on overtime so please dnt try to tag me as something im not,the walks are not that bad.To all the moaners, whingers out there, resign,go and get yourself a PROPER job, within 6 months youll be pleading to come back.

Re: Calling all senior Posties (over 20 years service)
To put this in context unless both of you are in the same office the discussion is pointless. All offices are different and in some drivers get it easy, in others they are ripped apart by management, in some offices posties have 2.5hr rounds and finish before 12 everyday, but there are also those that have 4.5 5 hour walks and never finish before their time.R@YAL F@IL wrote:Dito, the moaners and whingers strangely enough are drivers in which they seem to be pushing their luck as they do only 50% (work) of what a postie does, I know this as a fact as I used to do driving/rural duties.Dumpys Rusty Nuts wrote:ROYAL FAIL, i still do the occasional walk on overtime so please dnt try to tag me as something im not,the walks are not that bad.To all the moaners, whingers out there, resign,go and get yourself a PROPER job, within 6 months youll be pleading to come back.
Thats the problem of trying to put everyone in boxes, sometimes they don't fit. IMHO Its not usually the duty thats at fault but the dickhead doing it, if indeed they are.

Re: Calling all senior Posties (over 20 years service)
Just about 35 years now and I've had enough. Used to love this job and always kept me fit, until it's now left me with a permanent injury. (hip surgery)
I'm praying my IHR will come through in the next few weeks. Supposed to be on light duties inside until this comes through and then get a 2 faced line manager who turned nasty when I refused to cover a full time duty. This guy wasn't even born when I started!!!! The whole set up is a complete joke now and we all know it's going to get worse.
I will be soooo happy to take IHR.

41 years 6 months working for R/Mail. The last 26 years working indoors in the locker. Last week due to shortage of staff had to do a park and loop delivery. One of the most enjoyable weeks working for R/Mail. No bags to carry what a piece of cake, cannot see why people complain about it. People think that working in the locker is easy, well think again. Come the repick I will be doing park and loop.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.
