London hasn't been allowed to revert back to seniority...only Mt Pleasant.

Exceptionally because of the unique nature of the transfer of international work from Mount Pleasant to HWDC, a full office resign (excluding flowthrough duties) will take place at Mount Pleasant. The outcome will also incorporate the filling of all vacancies at Greenford, where people fall within the agreed suitable/alternative job offer criteria.

In line with the national agreement MTSF2 will apply at East and South London mail centres

Chimps ,are you actually against seniority.You are coming across as being resentful towards london, just because the union had the guts stand up against royal mail on this issue.

Only quoting the agreement that was reached between the Union and Royal Mail over the London issues.
If other deals have been done behind closed doors afterwards you can hardly blame members from other areas being slightly pissed off about it.
The concessions won after the strike ballot were fair enough and well done...anything other than that starts to look a little shady to the rest of the union...especially if they bypass national agreements.

No offence taken . I do have a lot of seniority, but I was trying to phrase my comments as a third party.

Mount pleasant will have full cross functional resign apart from Network drivers who will have their own seperate resign.

East London and South London will select their duties by MTSF shift senority. However we are in discussions over how the bump vrs in Croydon and Romford will be filled and senority is being discussed.

The unique thing about the mount is that it was changing from an international traffic office to a traditional mail centre. International traffic arrivals are different. The Mount had 335 early duties and the new Mount will have only 95 earlies. The early shift is the most senior shift in the Mount and therefore some very senior people would have not had a job within the office ( would have been moved out of the mount ) if MTSF 2 had been used.

Of course the ballot helped change Royal Mail`s thinking !!

Management are hiding behind their assertion that the Union signed up to the latest version of MTSF, which is why length of service seniority has gone out of the window.

Told last night that all duty structures haven't been agreed with union. So 121 discussions are now just fact finding and looks like another exercise will have to be done in future. Very unclear as to what agreement they are using cited MTSF2 and then proceed in advertising ILSM duties but to apply via an interview. Asked for copy of agreement and have been told that what is in our little glossy brochure is the agreement- what a load of cobblers.

Should have expected nothing less than utter shambles from the management elite.

Hopefully there will be a bit of direction from the union about what's happening (won't hold my breath on this though)
