Tis a mostly closed system folks. There is a finite supply of fossil fuel ,when its gone its gone and some say peak oil is passed already, in 100 years sucked dry.
Only two sources of long term energy input exist solar and lunar.

alternatives are needed and i trust the Green party in helping to find solutions, more so than the main parties !!!!

Sounds rather naive. To date, all the Greens have offered (in the way of solutions) are flawed power generation concepts, or the good old standby of "rationing by price". Doesn't matter too much if you're a high earner, but RM staff are typically in the earnings bracket which will get hit hard.

Doesn't it ring any alarm bells when the one and only Green MP says petrol prices aren't high enough?
Fair enough if your alternative to using the car is a train ride at 9am into central London, but she should try getting to some middle-of-nowhere MC/DO at 6.30am.
A scenario that ain't going to change in the forseeable future even if (by some miracle) the Greens got into power tomorrow, as the transport infrastructure isn't there nor is there any great demand for it to be put in place either.

Err... well i was thinking of the bigger picture tbh, whats the point of getting to a MC\DO one day soon and finding theres nothing to deliver due to the fact that peak oil may have been reached, and the public and senders may realise what a shocking waste of resources and money most of this s**t coming through the letterbox actually is...

I'm not really talking about the day to day lives of people getting to work etc. thats just thinking about today and i think its a bit more serious than that....thats just details im afraid and a person will do whatever they can to get by, if they couldnt then a job they could actually GET TO would be a good start.

Im sure a lot of people know deep down that a bigger change in the way we live is needed.....future generations are dependent on our generation sorting this out sooner rather than later......

My original post though was more to do with the here and now, i admit...

Im not anti car, simply anti unnecessary car use,I also do not own a car, nor can I afford to buy one or run one regardless of fuel price.

True, but until that unhappy time arrives, people still have to work to eat to live and keep warm. "Bigger pictures" and other idealistic but currently unattainable goals probably don't seem quite so important if you're on the bread-line.
