At a Pareto efficient allocation (on the Pareto frontier), the marginal rate of substitution is the same for all consumers. A formal statement can be derived by considering a system with m consumers and n goods, and a utility function of each consumer as zi = fi(xi) where is the vector of goods, both for all i. Also called the 80 / 20 law. 80% of worlds wealth is held by 20% of population. In RM 80% of the work is done by 20% of the workforce......possibly.
