MANAGERS (TOO MANY)

Post by smartie »

WITH ALL THE RUMOURS FLYING AROUND ABOUT JOB LOSSES
AND CUTTING HOURS ETC ETC ,AND ALWAYS HITTING US WITH CUT BACKS ALL THE TIME
ARE THERE ANY JOB CUTS AMONGST MANAGERS OUT THERE??

SOME OF THESE OFFICES ARE OVER RUN WITH MANAGERS. I KNOW
IN OUR OFFICE WE HAVE A DOM, AND 4 OTHER CLOWNS. THEY ARE NOT
NEEDED AS MOST OF THESE OFFICES RUN THEMSELVES.

WHY DONT THEY SAVE MONEY IN THESE OFFICES AND GET RID OF THE SURPLUS.
SAVE A LOT OF MONEY, HEY PRESTO THERE IS YOUR OFFICE SAVINGS....

f***ers have a reprieve

Post by POSTMAN »

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(CCNMatthews - April 11, 2007) - Amicus today welcomes the decision by Royal Mail to drop their proposals which would have forced managers to apply for their own jobs.

Amicus (CMA section) has been campaigning against the move for several months. Amicus National Secretary, Paul Reuter, said:

"We understand Royal Mail face many challenges, but their latest proposals were unworkable and we are happy that the organisation has dropped them. Amicus has experience in managing change in organisations that face competition and we would like to work with Royal Mail to secure their long term success."

Brian Scott, Assistant National Secretary, who has responsibility for Royal Mail Letters said:

"Royal Mail has expressed a degree of arrogance over the last few months suggesting that only they know the answers to the problems they face. We have consistently demonstrated a willingness to work with them to ensure that the management in Mail Centres and Delivery Offices is totally effective and that our members are trained, equipped and able to undertake their responsibilities to meet those challenges."

Royal Mail had initially intended to undertake some trials in six sites across the UK where new ways of working would be trialled. These came to nothing. Royal Mail has recently been criticised by the Postcomm, the Regulator, for being unable to reduce it's fixed costs. While Amicus does not necessarily accept this, we believe that this development is another example of Royal Mail's inability to manage change in an effective way.

But after we've been done no doubt they'll get back to them.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

A good point smartie and yes i bet there are offices where management could be cut where not needed.Royal fail had a plan for this the other month concerning team working and team leaders but other issues(350 MILLION IN SAVINGS)are now the priority so it seems this has been put on hold for now.Just for the record in my office we have 60 something staff and 2 managers who i have to say are pretty much ok.

managers have been cut back a lot over the last few years in our office we lost nights and transport bosses, fozzie could maybe give us the numbers but where the hell is he,and yes the 30per cent full time jobs to go include managers,in theory you have so many staff to one manager say 40 to pick a number as the jobs go the number of managers needed to keep that ratio up decreases,of late rm has been chasing lady bosses the next thing will be the encourgement of part timers to step up to part time bossin

WEVE GOT 4 MANAGERS IN BURSLEM FOR 110 STAFF, IN 1996 WE HAD 1 MANAGER AND A PART TIME SECRETARY,
OVER THE LAST 15 YEARS THERE HAVE BEEN TWO OCCASIONS WHEN MANAGERS IN OUR AREA WERE OFFERED VR, AND A LOT OF THEM TOOK IT, THE FIRST TIME SOME EVEN CAME BACK WORKING FOR RM AS PHGs, I THINK THATS CALLED JOBS FOR THE BOYS, THE TROUBLE IS AFTER THEY GET RID OF THE B***ARDS, THEY DREAM UP ANOTHER F***ING JOB TITLE FOR SOME LITTLE JUMPED UP HITLER TO DO :evil/mad

In my humble Opinion!

K Kid mate i think RM have got there game plan well and sorted out! They try all sorts of stunts to get the upper hand over the CWU
We need to get our arses in gear and keep as 1. As in Burslem and Now Your D.O. Hope the vans are still cracking on mate!!!
A D.O. is much easyer to get together but a M.C. is a nightmare with 3 shifts sometimes being run in 3 diff ways!!! As in my MC.
But with good people like yourself and many more WE SHALL PREVAIL!!

OUT

DONT LET THE CWU SPLINTER!! :no no :no no :no no :no no :Applause :Applause :Applause
