Thanks very much for the full and frank responce, but on the basis that you voted for the 2010 BTA i will not be voteing to elect you to the PEC/NEC.

Very few! Grand total of one so far.
Can only lament the lack of a democratic alternative.

I understand the PEC bit belle smith but not the NEC. NEC does not deal with industrial issues so surely BT2010 views should be discarded for the NEC election.

Did your fellow workers choose to move to alternative attendance patterns and thus generate longer Saturdays, mine chose NOT to. 6am to 1.30PM is the attendance times for FT delivery staff and 6.45 to 12.45 for PT delivery staff on Saturdays. My time is 6am to 2PM Tuesday to Saturday every Monday off.

Nobody can stop sequenced mail having a impact on Start times and therefore finish times but the length of the working day will only change dramatically if you implement alternative attendance patterns. D.O's CAN choose to stay on a normal 5 day week.That was the CHOICE of CWU mbrs at my D.O

Would you have took strike action for as long as it takes to stop RML buying and installing sequenced mail machines?

Course we did to get 1 in 4 off as that's only benefit of poor agreement I can see. Point is though should Union have policy for every saturday off or not.

I asked question three times about how you know one in 6 jobs would go but you can't answer. Don't care where your grandmother was born only if other countries that went to monday friday deliveries lost jobs. Should be simple question.

I'm told by cousin that in ireland this wasn't case. You seem to know maclean so he should have checked this out before making agreement that has stitched us all. Once more have others that moved from saturday delievries lost 1 in six. I don't think they have

Of course it's not a simple question...it would depend on what service RM decided to run on a Saturday and how they planned to resource it so until you know that you or me or Daz can't make a guess at how many jobs would go as a result of Mon-Fri.

As for knowing McClean I've met him on several occasions over the last 11 years dating back to before he was a PEC mbr and before I was a rep. Therefore I have been able to formulate a first hand opinion as to whether I should vote for him at PEC elections.

As for Saturdays do you not realise that parliament decides not the PEC or Dave Ward. A full blown 6 day a week service is laid down in Law and was debated in parliament since last June time and parliament has decided it has no desire to scrap Saturday service or down grade it. The service provided to the public should not be influenced by whereto postal workers want to be at work on Saturdays.

Tell me do you ever do anything on a weekend that involves workers, perhaps we should just ban work at weekends and shut the country down on Weekends. No shops, no pubs, no restaurants, no cafes, no cinemas, no petrol stations, no Sunday papers,no trains, no buses, no tourist attractions open,
