Is sunday scheduled attendance still pensionable

one of my colleagues today was asking if sunday schedule was still pensionable.He worked a 4 hour sunday 8-12 and on the new modified pay slip it said beside it np which in my thinking is non-pensionable.Have we been sold out again or is this another one of royal mails b***s ups on our pay slips?

Add: Sunday OT and SA is not pensionable if you are FT, but may be if you are PT - OT is pensionable up to a total of 40 hours including your contracted hours.

Well it has cost me about £1,500 pa on my pension, and £4,500 on my lump sum.

How did you work out those figures?

I used to work almost every Sunday, 6 hours or more, averaging £3,000 pa in Sunday Duty pensionable pay.
With 40 years service (actual service + added bought years), I would have got half that in pension = £1,500 pa.
And the lump sum is 3x the annual pension = £4,500.

Are you talking about losing the Sunday duty, or the change to Sunday duty pay being non-pensionable?

I'm talking about the Sunday Duty becoming non-pensionable.
Sunday Duties have now all but ceased, but if they had still been pensionable, they would have made that amount of difference to my pension as it is based on the best 12 months in the last 3 years.
IIRC people who were age 50 or over at the time of the Way Forward (2000) retained Sunday pensionability, but unfortunately I was 49.

It's "Career Average" since 2008, and that "best 1 of the final 3" rule no longer applies?

I have recently received my pension options. As I understand it, the pension up to March 2010 is still based as before on the best 12 months in the last 3 years, and would have been £1,500 higher if my Sunday Duty had still been pensionable.
It would also have boosted the career average part (after 2008) if my Sunday duties from 2002-2011 had counted as pensionable.
