Bullying & Harrassment is a PR exercise!

My manager is an Arsenal fan and he repeatedly refers to me as a Dirty Yiddo and that's not because I am a Spurs fan either!

The Bullying & Harrassment is a joke, but nothing gets done about it because no-one has any faith in the Grievance Procedure or is too scared of being victimised if they put one in!

Have Dundee East asked for a ballot for strike action?

No we have not, but 1 lad emailed higson, and next day Paul kelly, scotlands director appeared,and we are getting a lady from HR in for the next 2 weeks, and we are all to be taken in individually to air our views in confidence.
One dom told us they have to act upon her findings, so one of us piped up, well why arent you doing your job now then, what difference will telling a HR person make, its a tinderbox the now, a lot of very senior guys are looking ill, gaunt, tired and have changed in attitude since p and l came in...........its very sad to see, and worrying for some.
For as long as i can remember,it seems the b and h forms never come to nothing, just brushed under the carpet.

80% of the p and loop people are now forced into going out on there own in a van, and more vans aare coming, as revisions are put on hold in other areas, fook, itl soon be 100% one man, one van..................it goes on and on...............

Oh yes, the old "lady from HR who is going to sort everything out" routine. We once had the lady from HR, listened attentively, took notes, described the actions that would be taking place, how things would change etc etc, she would be back in six weeks to see how things had panned out..................guess what?.......................yes you don't need to be told do you. Incidentally I did see her again about 8 months later when I went in with a bloke on an appeal, just to unsettle her I asked her if the measures she had suggested on our previous meeting on HR issues had been lost somewhere in translation. He wasn't sacked but transferred and is still working for RM some years later.

It's probably the "feel good factor" getting it off your chest thinking that you are doing some good.............the disappointment is later, a bit like some of the women in my life have experienced

park and loop ok in smaller offices so crap in big offices.

Not sure what small office your in but i can say that it does not work in small or large offices,reasons being is the job is bigger than the duty we have it's just managers are hiding behind bulls**t they are frightened of loosing their own job or being seen to tell the truth,is sad to think that so many managers feel that if they are honest someone will come down and side swipe them,i always thought we were supposed to have an open door to be able to tell the truth.
