WTL on bank holiday weeks...

Post by kingtubby »

In our office they always cancel WTL on bank holiday weeks with the excuse that it's 'a short week'. I'm just wondering whether this practice is widespread or if it only happens with us?

It happens in our office week in week out. We have cut back so far we are under pressure every night and the excuse for no WTLL is Preessure.

What's WTLL :hmmmm

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Our regular WTL slot is at the end of the shift and we're all desperate to get home, hence there is very little discussion. The less said, the sooner we get out.
In fact it's the only opportunity we have for making any time at all these days as our shift manager enjoys keeping us in to the last minute, even when there is no work left to do...

I'm starting to think that our WTL quota is above the average. IIRC, in 'The Way Forward' we lost 5 minutes from tea-breaks to gain WTL sessions.

It used to be the case that Work Time Laugh In was not held during a short week. Mr Leighton actually stopped this practice and insisted that it is held regardless.

However, it is local managers, and work area managers who take matters into their own hands, by deciding whether they are too busy, can be bothered, or too frightened to do one. Many had a WTLL at the Fail Centre this week, although my group did not - my WAM was at a meeting, today.
