Re: grimsby D.O.
In my office there was substantial mail not delivered a few weeks ago - I'm talking bags filling up two yorks. Two posties blew the whistle to the local paper and it made the front page.

Re: grimsby D.O.
That's a lot of inside information from someone who started the thread with....
I'm sure management will have their own take on whether it was "common sense" or not without us undermining the rep on here.i heard there are fun and games at Grimsby D.O. ,has anyone heard anything ?

Re: grimsby D.O.
If delivering those 7 items meant that the postie would not have enough time to return to the depot and do all the standard end of duty things without going past the contract finish time (when they did want any O/T for whatever reason), provided they have followed protocol for cutting-off, surely everything is hunky dory?74tower wrote:7 letters and it was worked out at 4 minutes on the delivery...........i dont get it........a bit of common sense please.......that person gets a flier every saturday......i think they are going to find their work hours filled every saturday !

Re: grimsby D.O.
rep was told they would not get paid if they went over ,even though some of their time is taken up with union stuff etc, they stood their ground and only worked contracted hours and got bullied my management in return...4 mins delivery left over is rubbish, thats a manager lying ...as they do when it suits....who do you know who would work in their own time...i know i wouldnt.

Re: grimsby D.O.
At Grimsby, the DOM has been forced to resign allegedly, bullies from area are to be brought in doing time and motion studies.
The staff have to get permission to speak to a union rep, have been challenged when going to get a drink, and as you all can imagine, morale is at absolutely rock bottom.
The DOM was a fella who had worked his way up for well over 25 years, done every job in the office,(Well, I would add), and was a proper human being who would listen to peoples problems, and actually try and help.
One section of the office are doing P&L, the other 3 aren't, P&L people doing bigger riunds, finishing later, longer Saturdays, rest of us carrying on as normal. Feel sorry for some of them, but some have brought things on their selves prior to this, using their cars on delivery, coming in early etc.
Dreadful place to be working.
